(Video) Joe Biden Rips Lieberman and McCain on Obama Attacks - Why Aren't We Doing the Same?
Edited on Fri May-23-08 10:59 AM by K Gardner
Joe Biden Appeared On Morning Joe today to vociferously defend Barack Obama and the Democrats from recent attacks.

Part 1

Part 2

This is Joe Biden at his BEST ! He speaks forcefully against the ad hominem attacks on Senator Obama by Joe Lieberman and John McCain; speaks intelligently and rationally about Iran and the U.S. Foreign Policy over the past eight years as ultimate failure. Strong language, forceful arguments.. he states he refuses to have Obama "swiftboated" as our candidates were in 2000 and 2004 and he will continue to speak out immediately. Today's appearance on Morning Joe was a follow-up to Biden's editorial in the Wall Street Journal - an immediate response to Lieberman's attack on Democrats and Obama from May 21. Follow the WSJ Exchange below:

Democrats and Our Enemies - Lieberman Attack May 21

WSJ: Repubicans and Our Enemies - Biden Response May 23

I realize it's much more exciting to argue about Hillary's chances of being VP (which are actually zero) but THIS is the fight we need to be fighting now. People have moved on and we need to stand behind Obama and unite with leaders like Biden to start fighting this fight.

Join in, fellow Democrats ! This is where our energy and talents need to be. Anything else, any other issue, whether from Lieberman, McCain or Clinton - is simply a distraction and diversion from the fight we need to be waging. If we let them distract us, they have won.

5. I was the fifth Rec!
Yay, me!

Seriously, as I've repeatedly noted on the show, "John McCain is the Problem." It's time we all learned that and, as Democrats, started supporting the man who will carry our banner.

7. Unity for the party, unity with each other
Cheers to Joe Biden for standing up and fighting back on behalf of Obama. Time to follow Senator Biden's example and start fighting the Republicans for all we're worth and lay off the infighting with each other.

12. The Dems are itching to back the juggernaut that is Obama.
I was really impressed when Jamie Rubin (HRC supporter) came out and slammed McCain in support of Obama recently.

That's party unity looks like, not kowtowing to a spoiled 2-year-old stomping her foot.
