Edited on Fri May-23-08 12:01 PM by powergirl
Survey USA Poll: Poll Results taken 5-15 through 5-18. Obama beats McCain among women and (gasp!) white people too! I guess Obama is plenty "electible!"

3. Obama is going to have a hard time with those ignorant fucks in SE Ohio though
Spend some time hanging out in Portsmouth, Nelsonville, and Jackson and get back to me if you think it'll be easy down there.

6. Nobody said it would be easy down there.
It won't be easy there for any Democrat.

If I were Obama, i wouldn't waste my time in SE Ohio. He can send Strickland down there to campaign for him.

15. That area is filled with some of the most bitter, ignorant people I've ever met. It's crazy down
there.

8. As a former resident of SE Ohio....
I don't think they've ever voted for a Democrat. They were sympathizers for the South in the Civil War. Just sayin.

11. yes, however
McCain is probably going to have to go Draconian on immigration just to appease the GOP base because they inherently mistrust him. Unfortunately for McCain, he'll probably have to do it on a national stage or at least often enough that it'll turn Hispanics off. Then whether Obama picks Bill Richardson or not, he'll at least have the most prominent Hispanic politician in the country campaigning for him. So those numbers should even out some in the end. I would think anyway.

5. Obama's numbers should look pretty solid
until the week after the GOP convention. McCain should get a bump there. I think McCain just won't be able to mobilize the excitement. Not enough of the base likes him, the GOP is in an epic meltdown, Bush is about as popular as the clap, and Obama is a history making type of candidate. Obama should consistently be up by around 10 points all year, he'll win by a little less, I would think, but he'll win. Right now that, the numbers aren't that important. We'll get a real look at what McCain can bring after the GOP Convention, because he'll top out after that. If McCain can't catch Obama then, well it'll virtually be over.

12. He should
I was being conservative. :) Turnout will probably be the big difference. Too much going against the GOP too. It'll be tough to route McCain because of the South, but even then, enough new Black voters could come out and make it interesting, although that will probably be more telling in some Congressional districts.

9. We'll win Ohio. WHY?
Because we have a Democrat there as Secretary of State.
