hillary would be better positioned to be DRAFTED into the nomination in the event of assassination

there's NO NEED to actively campaign in order to take advantage of the horrific contingency that your opponent is assassinated.

if he is killed while she's still campaigning, then she wins by default. not a ringing endorsement for the general election.

if he is killed after she's graciously stepped aside, then everyone can "draft" her into the nomination, which looks much better.

all this is so horrible to even consider, but my point is that potential assassination in no way is a reason to continue campaigning. it's not just amoral and politically daft, it also just plain makes no strategic sense.

She's the white knight, charging in to save the Democratic from losing in 2008 ... and she (and her supporters) are the only ones who can see she's only doing what's best for us. This fits in perfectly with that narrative--Obama is killed and only she can save the party ... makes me want to fucking puke.

which raises the excellent point that perhaps too much power concentrated in one person can be a bad thing for many reasons, that being one of them.

no president is immortal.

and even if she wanted to make that point, surely there are more delicate ways of putting it.
