The parallels between assassinationgate and bittergate are pretty remarkable and certainly ironic. When Obama made his comments in San Francisco about small town America everybody knew what he meant, but nobody was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt or to be honest about what he truly meant with his statement. Not only that, there was also a video from the Charlie Rose Show from a few years ago where he said basically the same exact thing, but he said it in a way that wasn't offesnive and that made clear his intentions. But nobody talked about that Charlie Rose video which basically cleared him of any guilt, and nobody in the media took his side while his character was being attacked.
Now we have assassinationgate where in my mind it's clear that Hillary was talking about the length of the primary season, but many aren't going to give her the benefit of the doubt. There's even a quote from her in the march Time Magazine where she says basically the same thing, but in a way that makes it clear that she was talking about primary seasons going into June, and not about harm coming to senator Obama. But people aren't going to talk about that quote from Time Magazine, and why should they? Not only did Hillary not defend Obama when she knew that he meant no harm with his bitter remarks, she threw him under the bus, turned it into political gotcha, and called him an elitist. Now it's her that could use some defending and i'm pretty sure she won't be receiving much.
That's what karma is all about. What goes around comes around. Hillary took the low road in regards to Obama's bitter comments and now she has her own controversal comments that will be twisted and used for political gain. I would have sympathy for her had she not called Obama elitist and out of touch after bittergate, but since she did I think she's getting exactly what she deserves. And this isn't coming from a Hillary hater. I just believe in the golden rule, a rule that Hillary broke in Pennsylvania and is paying for dearly at this very moment.
