1. No, she just said that her path to the nomination is through Obama's dead body.

11. God forbid, if something did happen to Obama before the convention,
I think it would be karma if the SDs nominated John Edwards.

8. That's about the best, most concise summation of the situation I've seen all day. Spot-on.
And what's equal parts saddening & infuriating is that her boosters around here seem to see nothing wrong with that.

citing the possibility as her reason for staying in the race. Ugh.

9. I think she was flat out trying to incite it
She keeps reminding us of how Bobby was killed in June almost as if she's saying, nows the time, it's my only way to win. Hint hint nudge nudge.

31. Considering that about every 6 months, someone goes on a shooting rampage
it was, at the very least, unforgivably irresponsible.

You don't have to look far to find people breathlessly talking about things like class war, race war, the antichrist, sleeper agents, manchurian candidates and all that sort of stuff. But, you say, those people are crazies, they just sit there spouting their crazy shit on the internet all day. So what, you say.

Well, before the internet was a big deal, back in 1987, there were other diversions. Remember 'Dungeons and Dragons'? A popular pursuit for a certain sort of nerd. I enjoyed it, a lot; enough that I used to play by mail - one way of taking part in a game with a large number of participants over a longer time frame. I played a variety of strategy and roleplaying games by mail,

There were monthly newsletters, printed up on Xerox machines. And in those newsletters people would send messages to each other, calling out smack talk and so on - much as they do in online multi-player games today. Sometimes the smack talk got really out there, but it was all good clean fun. Or so I thought until one of the people I 'knew' through one of these role-playing communities went over the edge one day and shot 15 people.

Irrational people present a danger to society precisely because their psyches are not well grounded. John Hinckley attacked President Reagan because he thought it would impress Jodie Foster, to take but one example.

7. For the comprehension challenged....
which seems to be the majority of D.U. today:

“I’ve heard her make that argument before,” Mr. Kennedy said, speaking on his cell phone as he drove to the family compound in Hyannis for the holiday weekend. “It sounds like she was invoking a familiar historical circumstance in support of her argument for continuing her campaign.” . . . is support of Mrs. Clinton has not wavered.
More from RFK, Jr.:

I have heard her make this reference before, also citing her husband's 1992 race, both of which were hard fought through June. I understand how highly charged the atmosphere is, but I think it is a mistake for people to take offense."

15. Yes. We've read that. And???
The sole supporter she has from the Kennedy family. And in light of everything else taking place with them, Fuckabee's recent comment - and her past comments... She needs to learn to keep her fucking mouth shut and stop letting her conscious speak out loud.

28. Sounds more like she said
RFK was still campaigning in June when he was assassinated, so there's no need for her to drop out, prematurely, because the same might happen to Obama, in JUNE.

29. It was just after he won the California Primary in 1968
The Primary calendar is much different today. The California Primary was in February. There is no comparison between the two primary seasons in a historical context in reference to States or delegates that remain.

30. In the same well a strategically placed hangman's noose does not imply a hanging?
She could have said something as simple as, "And in 1968 the campaign was not wrapped up by June either". Words have meanings, and power, and implications. It's sad if Hillary does not realize it, but even more sad that she could so deliberately and casually use such a loaded and powerful word as "assassination".

35. That's exactly what she WAS saying
for the two months after she first came with the "assassination" reference. This was clearly premeditated. She wanted to make more of a point than "June isn't so late, what's the hurry." The intentionally wanted to raise the specter of harm visiting Obama.
