They are the most politically astute people ever to exist. As Tom Brokaw himself stated, "Bill Clinton is the a complete political animal."

They don't say anything by accident. They aren't racists themselves, but they will use racism, assassination insuinuations, whatever it takes.

I don't think even Hillary supporters (when they are in private and no one can hear) can honestly argue that Hillary and Bill don't understand what every word out of their mouth implies or the what the implication will instill in the general CW or the minds of superdelegates.

The end justifies the means.

Heaven help us.

3. I watched PBS' Washington Week in Review earlier this evening
and Karen Tummelty of Time said that Hillary had made that comment re: RFK in June previously to her editor, a month or two ago so apparantly it's something she has been thinking and talking about for a awhile now. It wasn't something that just slipped out because she was tired or something.

4. I'm from Arkansas, and you couldn't have described it better. They have used that "dogwhistle"
their entire political career. Somehow I believed it was okay for awhile. But now it just seems...well, wrong. Very, very wrong.

And believe me, they know EXACTLY what they are doing.

7. Well put!
Here's a little history. IMO, Randall Robinson's analysis and commentary is the most apt.

5. Bill Clinton's Doctor is Convinced
that he's a human being.

After a thorough eamination and heart surgery.

Hillary's doctor is on record stating she's a human being, too.

14. My family did really well under Clintonomics.
The Clintons made sure that a rising tide lifted all boats in the 1990's.

They did what they said they would do.

That includes Al Gore on that team.

So the whole "trustworthiness and moral character" bullshit argument ends up being just that.

Bullshit.

15. Ask the poor how that "welfare reform" worked for them? Or factory workers what they think of NAFTA?
I guess your family is not famous for their sense of empathy nor community service. :(

8. People naturally screw up in a long campaign like this, they've all done it already
Edited on Fri May-23-08 11:30 PM by ShadowLiberal
Everyone would screw up and have brainfarts where they say something dumb that could turn away voters in a 12+ month long nomination battle, the Clinton's are perfect gods at campaigning.

Remember stuff like McCain's "bomb bomb Iran" comment that caused controversy from how Bush already seemed to be pushing for a war with Iran. Remember Obama's bitter comments. Remember Bill Clinton's comment that "oh well Jesse Jackson won South Carolina twice", stuff like that people will naturally let slip in a long campaign from not thinking ahead, not thinking about what they're going to say before they say it.

Some mistakes though are certainly worse and more damaging then others, depending on how they're treated by the media.

Rev. Wright. Bank on it! :nuke:

13. They didn't use racism or assassination insinuations
These were "interpreted" by Obama supporters for maximum effect. Just like "fairy tale". Today was fairy tale all over again. OMG - they said something I can interpret horribly if I want to!

It was the Obama crowd, mostly the media, which used racism and assassination insinuations. Shows you the only way they thought Obama could win.

As well, this syndrome proves that the Clintons are human and they underestimated the insane level of hate directed at them. They should have learned to robotically translate their words through the prism of "left wing media outrage".

18. Nope
they are the worst of politics and are great manipulators. Until S.C. primary, even though I was and I'm an Obama supporter, I always held bill in high regard. I never did care for hillary. Even after the Monica situation, it was hard for me to be sympathetic toward her. I felt like "woman you knew what you married and that was the price you were willing to pay to get what you wanted."

That married was never based on love or passion, but power and control. The only clinton I have any slight warmth toward is Chelsea. She can't help who her parents are.
