An invitation to "Ignored"
Last night, for lack of anything better to do, I went through my Ignore list. This is a feature I never used until this bitter primary season. I was amazed to find the fully two thirds had been tombstoned. Most of the rest were low posters who elected not to share their profiles and one was on suspension. A few, though, were long time DU members whose post totals put mine to shame.

My point is that our discourse has really been polluted by a few disruptors who mean us and our party no good. I would like to take the real DUers off that list and I think the outrage about Hillary’s RFK gaffe may be the place to begin our healing. Anyone on my ignored list who is willing to agree that her comment was way out of bounds will be removed from my list and hopefully from the list of many others. Let’s start moving ahead together again.

1. How does one know they're on ignore?
I suppose not getting a response might be an indication.

4. Life will be much better when the 10 or 12 "Hillary shits ice cream" DU'ers either...
1) Get an NSF check from "culture jam the internetz" part of Hillary's campaign.
2) Get their prescriptions refilled and suddenly synchronize with reality.
or
3) Get frustrated and go back to 'the site that shall not be mentioned'.

5. Actually, my ignore list has grown by leaps and bounds today.
I started the day with 4 people on it. I have a surprisingly high threshold for inanity on internet message boards, but right now that list is sitting at around 30 strong. I simply refuse to grant people who are being intentionally flippant, careless, and downright supportive of Clinton's remarks even a hint of my attention. I am as sickened by their remarks as I am by any number of people who present themselves to be free of principles and conscience. They are not the ones whose hands I want to hold when we unite as a party, because to me, those people don't belong in this party.

I wish I could be more of a "uniter." But I refuse. I simply refuse.

8. I am curious, why would you put someone on ignore? you know
earlier a poster told me welcome to my ignore button, and I wondered, why post on a thread that I begun if you didn't want to talk to me, sometimes people when they are angry do not make sense...that is what anger can do to someone...and unreasoned anger is even worse

14. Then wouldn't it be more feasible to not put one on ignore so you could tell them?

10. One problem with that -
if they are on ignore, how will they tell you?

12. DU is full of good people
DU is full of good people with high standards and sharp minds.

But the opening post of one topic today had made me think 'now's the time to use ignore.' It was because somebody was clueless to the point of being overly defensive to the point of being offensive in asserting that people concerned about Senator Clinton's assassination remarks were making much ado about nothing. Maybe the person's alright but has a 'block' which stops her from seeing how very awful the 'A' meme is. I don't know. When this primary season is 'over' people will be forgiving each other here, I'm sure.
