NYT on Hillary: "Say What?"
Pretty excoriating rebuke from the paper that endorsed her run:

1. Whoa! To imply that you're hanging around just in case your opponent gets executed ... well ...
it's not MORAL but BANAL. :(

2. a few excerpts
<snip>

"We have no idea what, exactly, Hillary Clinton was thinking when she referred to the assassination of Bobby Kennedy in explaining her decision to keep on campaigning when it looks like there is virtually no hope of her winning the Democratic nomination.

(We’ve supported her decision to do so. This is a democracy, after all.)

But she could, at least, have apologized.
Instead, she issued one of those tedious non-apology apologies in which it sounds like the person who is being offended is somehow at fault: “I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation, and particularly for the Kennedy family was in any way offensive.”

If?

Is it even possible that Mrs. Clinton thinks someone out there was not offended by her remark, Kennedy relative, Obama relative, or just plain folks?"

I wish they would officially retract their endorsement of this woman.

13. Yes, that's a good descriptive
term.. ..tedious non-apology apologies" that hilary is so infamous for.

How many tedious non apologies in hilary's history? Bosnia? Or how many denials before the inevitable tedious non apology? After all "Sinbad is just a comedian."

3. I really liked the front page headline on a Tabloid:
"WHAT THE HILL?"

it made me laugh.

4. Yup. It wasn't an apology and it wasn't a gaffe.

6. I don't suppose it occurred to you that with your sig, that train wreck has the caption
"Barack Obama for President in 2008."

Which will be all too perfect a caption if too many of Clinton's supporters are alienated by the overreaction to what she said.

It would be wisest to listen to what Obama said about this himself.

RFK Jr., too.

9. So it's BS to suggest that you listen to Obama when he responds rationally?
And you really don't think the overreactions are alienating Clinton supporters whose votes he'll need in November?

Thank God he's much smarter than many of his supporters here...

12. I really think you need to allow a little outrage over her comments
Obama is taking the wise position of not turning the screws on her. It doesn't make what she said any less horrible.

As to RFK Jr, he can say what he wants, but I do not think RFK would approve of the politics Hillary has played at these last months.

8. ...
May 23rd,
2008
6:57 pm If Barack Obama so much as sneezes, stubs his toe, gets a hangnail, splits a hair or trips on his shoelaces and falls down the stairs, we’ll all know who to suspect.

11. Well, it looks like the NYT who actually endorsed hilary at one
point in history feels the same way about her as Keith Olbermann.

You know hilary knew she stepped into her own ugly shit when she came up with that yarn about being in shock about Ted Kennedy who endorsed Obama. The only thing hilary's in shock about is not being inevitable anymore.
