I remain unconvinced that HRC is the more qualified candidate for the presidency...
...and this recent display of incompetence under pressure did nothing to change that fact.

But I forgive her gaffe.

1. Good because she isn't. Sorry but the only thing she has is more baggage
and she is in bed snugly with corporate America with it.

2. "gaffe"?
Edited on Sat May-24-08 06:03 PM by TahitiNut
Repeated for the fourth time? Is that like "misspeaking" about sniper fire five times? Maybe it's like the "unintended" offense of "White Americans"?

I'm rather non-plussed that folks don't seem to fully appreciate the fact that everything a professional politician says is designed for it's impact on the audience and only the rarest of politicians (Wellstone, et. al.) adhere to the integrity (think-say-act) of their words.

How about a "Crusade" in the Middle East??? Rady to forgive Chimperor Dumbfuck??

3. Gaffe?
that sounds very inconsequential..

Clinton's words broke a double taboo, because since the beginning of his candidacy, some of Obama's supporters have feared that his race made him more of a target than other presidential hopefuls (playing off the "unelectable"). Clinton KNEW Obama was placed under Secret Service protection early, a full year ago.

To be unaware that one's words tap into a monumental fear that exists in a portion of the electorate -- a fear that Obama's race could get him killed -- is an unusual mistake for a serious and highly disciplined presidential candidate.

7. I never DID think she was more qualified. So I am not suprised by her intentional mistake.
Remember, she said this TWICE. It was no accident.

She is an astute politician. She knows what she's doing. She makes mistakes, but not these kinds of mistakes, and certainly not more than once.

Being an astute politician doesn't make her more qualified to be President, though. Maybe city council member?

8. Frankly I remain convinced that OB is the more qualified...
and that really frightens me, can he really go up against those now holding power? does he have the backers he will need? does he have people to watch his back he can honestly trust?

the future of our country depends on so much....I am really worried all the way around..
