Carter sees superdelegates prompting Clinton to quit soon.
Remember Carter and Gore were talking together last month

LONDON (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter said on Sunday he expects Democratic superdelegates to reveal their choice for presidential nominee soon after the final primary in June and that Hillary Clinton will then have to quit the race.

In an interview with Sky News, Carter said he did not think Clinton was achieving anything by staying in the fight.

"I think not. But of course she has the perfect right to do so," he said while attending a literary festival in Britain.

"I'm a superdelegate ... I think a lot of the superdelegates will make a decision quite, announced quite rapidly, after the final primary on June 3," he told Sky News.

"I have not yet announced publicly, but I think at that point it will be time for her to give it up," Carter said.>>>> snip

I guess I should have realized that things have become so absurd that some posters would actually have this as a real position.

5. Well, then why doesn't he declare himself as a superdelegate?
What am I missing here? Is there something that makes it beneath a former President to endorse someone?

12. he has given enough hints he supports Obama, but he is letting it play out until the end of the
primary calendar on June 3rd and then he will formally endorse the nominee--Barack Obama.

He has stated that he will announce after the last primary and it will be for the candidate with the most pledged delegates.

She should see what most Democrats think. Let's see what the next poll has to say.

9. We elect people by polls now?
Edited on Sun May-25-08 09:18 AM by mac2
Funny the polls say we want out of Iraq and our military home. The polls say we want Bush gone but he's still there. We want a different direction but it is the same ole, same ole frat gang who are running for President. We want our rights back but they ignore it...etc, etc.

Polls are ignored by the elite when they please.

8. Jimmy Carter who was going to stop the killing in ME?
Like he has any influence? I want him to stay out of the process and go to the convention. Yes she and the rest of the party delegates have a perfect right Jimmy and don't forget it.

He's a Super Delegate and that's a good democratic process? Get real Jimmy. You were put out of office for a reason.

I don't think one major figure has been able to criticize her without them dismissing them harshly.

23. June 3, We will see an avalanche of Supers for Obama.... Carter is
playing this like the statesman he is, allowing the last primary
to play out. Both Gore and Jimmy have been talking together.

The other X-Democratic president is playing his role out as a junk yard dog.
I hope he sees the light and starts acting like an X-president should.
