Andrea Mitchell: Senator Clinton, I wanted to ask about the comments you made to the South Dakota's Sioux Falls Argus-Leader.

Hillary Clinton: Well listen, I think the fact that you are asking me this question shows a certain misogynistic attitude on your part.

Andrea Mitchell: But Senator Clinton, I am a woman.

Hillary Clinton: Well, listen, that's up for debate.

Andrea Mitchell: Back to my question...

Hillary Clinton: Well, I have answered those questions. Let me say, with the way the press is coming after me on this is, well, it's becoming character assassination.

Andrea Mitchell: Why do you say that?

Hillary Clinton: Well, you are implying that I wanted Senator Obama assasinated like Martin Luther King Jr. was, who of course was killed by a hard-working American, white American in 1968, right before the Puerto Rican primary.

Andrea Mitchell: Senator, that simply isn't true. There was not a Puerto Rican Democratic primary in 1968.

Hillary Clinton: Well, maybe I shouldn't have referenced the King assassination in making my case. I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation, and particularly for the King family, was in any way offensive. When voters walk into the John Wilkes Booth, uhh, I mean when they walk into the voting booth, they will not be thinking about my past statements.

Andrea Mitchell: But, are you really sorry?

Hillary Clinton: Well, I am sorry....as far as I know.
