I could respect Hillary's choice for continuing this race if it wasn't for
Edited on Sun May-25-08 02:22 PM by Blue_Roses
the way she has gone about it. Everytime I try to give her the benefit of the doubt, there she goes again...

For those of us who truly supported and respected Hillary as first lady and senator, but now find that we are so turned off, it's very disappointing. Those who continue to support her so passionately think they are the only ones who support her. Wrong. Many of us DID like and even DEFENDED Hillary, and believe it or not, find it extremely sad that this is what it has come to.

1. I still support and respect her. Everything
she says something a pundit or some of the media twist it until it suits what they want to hear. Howard Fineman, Chris Matthews, that Barnicle fellow from Boston, GLORIA BORGER (the worst) and heaven help me, now, even Keith Olbermann is getting in on the act. It is Damn Hillary Time. Gossiping old hens is what they have become. Keith sold his soul to G.E.

2. how can they twist the words that have actually come out of her on
Edited on Sun May-25-08 02:31 PM by Blue_Roses
mouth--on tape? You're delusional if you think it's all "poor Hillary" is getting piled on by the press. Remember, she did say, "IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT, GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN," but Hillary plays by her own rules--as she has so clearly shown by her behavior. Unfortunately for her, those rules don't apply to the rules of the Democratic primary.

6. I've never said "poor Hillary." I don't
feel sorry for her. I am angry for her. You know what I wrote is true. I've been around too long to not understand what is going on. Sure she said If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. But she was not the originator of that slogan. Harry Truman was and he was a great Democrat. That slogan has been used in every situation for years and years. Everyone else on DU is flooding the internet with their vitriol towards her. She needs someone to fight for her right to stay in the race. Don't tell me she isn't getting piled on by the press. I wasn't born yesterday. Matter of fact I was born in 1932 and have seen a hell of a lot more than a lot of people. And those words that come out of her mouth are the words that are twisted by others. Like her or hate her, but don't make up crap about her.

8. I know who said those words, but she doesn't stop at saying them
over and over. I too, wasn't born yesterday and neither was my 88 year-old mother who thinks Hillary is nuts too. She has gone too far with her blatant obsession with winning.

9. it's not about feeling sorry for her
although many do since she seems to use this "victim" stance alot. It's not working for anymore. She got mad because she was always being asked the first question, but then she gets mad when she thinks the press doesn't give her credit ...for whatever it is she thinks she deserves credit for...it's like being on a roller-coaster ride with her. She's inconsistent. It's no wonder people are losing interest in her.

10. We will just have to agree to disagree. Neither
of us will change our minds. We see things totally differently. I see her as an extremely capable woman who would make an excellent president and you see her as selfish and self-serving. If she is not the nominee we will be saying Heil McCain! That is what it boils down to for me. The one capable of beating McCain. It is stupid but there are many people still left in this country who will not vote for a black man. Racism is always going to be with us. The End.

3. The primaries will be over June 3. The question is, what is she "continuing", beyond that? nt

5. she has gone too far and that is indefensible
Some have lost all sense of fair play and decency at the behest of the Clintons in their kamikaze quest back to the White House, purposely cultivated to create an atmosphere of chaos.

She has gone too far.
