So, HolyJoe was invited to the AZ social with McCain...
This party that McInsane had over the weekend to check out some running mates.

I can't tell you how much LIEberman disgusts me. Other guests in attendance: Bush.

Tell me, why does Joementum still serve on Democratic committees??

:nuke:

1. He won't
the day after the new congress is sworn in. We are one vote away from a Cheny tie breaker so we have to put up with the asshole till January. After that the son of a bitch is going to get no committee assignments.

His hope is McCain wins and he gets to be in the cabinet.

6. Bill Clinton
Edited on Sun May-25-08 03:14 PM by Jake3463
Joe was one of the few democrats who took Bill to the woodshed over Monica. Gore was trying to show how he was not Bill Clinton.

Joe was supposed to sure up values voters.

If you remember Joe had such faith in Gore he continued to run for Senate and the VP at the same time.

4. Don't be sure about that
As much as I'd like to see the adnenoidal dumbfuck finally relegated to a Senate broom closet, Democrats will be deciding how important it is to enhance their chances of winning cloture votes. Oleaginous Joe might get a pass yet again, as fucking maddening as it might be.

7. As long as it's called a "social"
and he has a lackey to drive and trip light switches, I'm sure he's technically covered, which is good enough for the smarmy Conscience of the Senate.

5. Did he get a corsage?
Have you heard about John and Joe?
Did they really get pinned?
Did he kiss him and cry?
Did he pin the (flag) pin on?
Or was he too shy?
Well, I heard they got pinned
-Yeah! Yeah!
I was hopin' they would!
- Oho!
Now they're livin' at last,
Goin' steady for good!

(apologies to Bye Bye Birdie)

15. I think Holy Joe will be his running mate. I think he wants somebody he can trust
and I think he likes and trusts Joe and they are of the same mind on Iran and Iraq. He trusts Joe much more than Huck or Mittens. Mark my word it will be McCain/Lieberman.

21. I'll take that bet. No way Joe L is on the repub ticket
Would Joe L get a spot in a McCain administration? Certainly (assuming he wanted it, which he probably would). But the repubs aren't putting somewone with a generally pro-choice record on the ticket with a 71 year old presidential nominee. Their base is already squeamish about McCain. The one thing he doesn't need to shore up is his warmongering credentials. He needs to get the fundies excited about supporting him and Joe L is not the way to do that.

18. An upside to a McCain win finally
Lieberman would no longer be in the Senate!

But the thought of Traitor Joe in any capacity makes me puke.

Ned Lamont please?

22. Probably a good thing you don't have the money. You'd lose it.
As mentioned upthread, McCain needs to rally his base. Joe L is not the guy to do that by a long shot.

23. I don't think McCain really gives a shit about his base.
Really. Otherwise he wouldn't have deep sixed the fundies. The base will probably go to Bob Barr anyway.

20. It's a tactical decision
as to why Lieberman still serves on Democratic committees. I think it has to deal with the balance of power in the Senate. It's one of those things that you have to do to keep the Republicans from having more power in the Senate.
