BO wants Bill Clinton to heal rifts in the party?
Tell me this is a joke.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article3998946.ece

Obama calls Bill a racist, trashes his administration's accomplishments, not to mention his wife, and then expects Bill to help him out?

Is Obama really that arrogant or just plain clueless?

77. Ahhnold, is that you? & by the way that's a sexist remark, a "tell" that the user of such language
regards femaleness, the feminine, as an undesirable condition/trait, usually associated in this context with weakness. Which of course is why those who have such views (male = strong, female = weak) use it as an intended slur on a male. Accusing a male of being feminine or feminized or associating him with the feminine is clearly a slur to those who obviously view the female, the feminine, as something undesirable and negative, a trait of the "weaker sex."

Clearly no true Hillary Clinton supporter would use such sexist and gender-demeaning language.

38. Here you go
from the linked article...

"Senior officials on Obama’s campaign believe Bill Clinton has the unique status and political gifts to reunite the party after such gaffes. They expressed confidence that the former president would rise above the perceived slights and grudges of a hard-fought campaign and work flat out for an Obama victory in November’s presidential election.

“If anybody can put their arms around the party and say we need to be together, it is Bill Clinton,” a senior Obama aide said.

“He’s brilliant, he has got heart and he cares deeply about the country. It’s tricky because of his position as Hillary’s spouse, but his involvement is very important to us.

“Bill Clinton will give permission to Hillary supporters to come into our camp and become one party. He is critical to this effort.”

....

Actually, its not too surprising. Obama and his campaign are pretty naive and obviously very afraid of what McCain has in store for them. Too bad they weren't keeping that in mind when they decided to divide the party and insult its best president since FDR.

21. Here's the reason I've thought for years Bill Clinton is a racist:

"Crime Control Impact: A shift in resources from communities to corrections
The money and resources spent by governments and private interests on the criminal justice system is so large that it is having a profound impact on our economy, and as a result, our society. In 1994, just two years after President Bill Clinton took office, there were 1.4 million prison and jail inmates in the U.S. and by 1997, the criminal justice system employed more than two million people,6 and cost taxpayers more than $70 billion a year. One estimate suggests that by 2002, the criminal justice system will cost taxpayers more than $200 billion annually.7 Today, there are more people working in the criminal justice system than are working in community and social service occupations (like employment, vocational, mental health and substance abuse counseling).8 Ironically, these are the occupations that are most likely to be geared towards preventing crime, and helping to rehabilitate ex-offenders, as opposed to occupations that are designed to arrest, prosecute, detain and imprison. With two million people behind bars in the U.S., and 4.5 million people on probation and parole, America ends the Clinton-era with at least 8.5 million people who are either under the control of the correctional system or working for the criminal justice system.

While everyone is affected by the nation's quadrupling of the prison population, the African American community has borne the brunt of the nation's incarceration boom. From 1980 to 1992, the African American incarceration rate increased by an average of 138.4 per 100,000 per year. Still, despite a more than doubling of the African American incarceration rate in the 12 years prior to President Clinton's term in office, the African American incarceration rate continued to increase by an average rate of 100.4 per 100,000 per year. In total, between 1980 and 1999, the incarceration rate for African Americans more than tripled from 1156 per 100,000, to 3,620 per 100,000. (See Chart III) "

23. It will be critical that Obama and Clinton come together
if we are going to win this in November.

I do not think there is nearly the animosity between the actual individuals involved as there is between some groups of their supporters. It will be critical that both of the Clinton show strong support of Obama and asking Bill to begin this process is not a bad idea at all.

You'll have a hard time finding any Dem who would criticize Bill for sitting on the sidelines.

You hated Clinton, you smeared Clinton, you insulted him and called him a racist. If you have such a low opinion of him, why would you want his support?

Nope.. So you have drank the kool aid and have taken the Clinton talking point to turn that around? This is the reason people are fed up with them and people like you.

She can say that she and McCain have experience and he doesnt.
She can say that he is elitist and out of touch with people.
She can say people will vote for her but not him, etc..
And all he does is life her up..

But when Bill says Obama won because Jesse Jackson did, Obama surrogates call him on it and because of that Obama is racist? Holy shit, that is some dumb shit on Bills part and then he drags this out for months just like you..

This is the reason her negatives are higher then any other nominee in history.

Also the reason supers are running from her like a STD.

Rationalize it all you want. Your candidate isn't going to get any help from Bill Clinton or any of the Clinton supporters you've called STD's, racists, bigots, etc.

You're on your own. Hope you can win with 35% of the party's base. Good luck :hi:

98. Sounds good to me
I'm sure the majority of Dems dont want Bill on the campaign fucking it up for Obama any way like he did for Hillary.

And all the dems will come over to Obama. Though people like you will vote for McCain which is for the better any way, Obama does not want votes from racists.. You should start finding a good McCain forum so you can continue to spread false racist statements because they will not fly here much longer..

96. I will repeat what I said I call him a racist not a liar a racist for what he did
as president. I don't know that Hillary would do such a vial thing to the African American community but he did. Look at the stats I linked.

Actually it's true he apologized for some of what he did. But, I don't forgive him.

94. Here's the link I gave before:
BTW I was a prisoner's rights activist during the 90's so I know what I'm talking about and we worked with CJCJ who did lots of research on this.

http://www.cjcj.org/pubs/clinton/clinton.html

"While everyone is affected by the nation's quadrupling of the prison population, the African American community has borne the brunt of the nation's incarceration boom. (See Chart III)"

89. No, it's not a joke, it's a statement by someone who actually
cares, about another person who also cares. The two have had a pretty serious fight, but at the bottom they can look at each other and shrug it off and work together on the things they care about, whether they like each other or not.

That's what grown up's do, and it's sure as hell what politicians do. I don't like it sometimes, but I've seen it go around often enough to know what it is. Whatever game you're playing, it's not politics. You may not like the politics being played, but that's the name of the game.

Bill Clinton will do exactly what he wants to in support of Senator Obama. Luckily, he will make that decision, not you.

93. Obama's campaign does NOT care
or they wouldn't have waged such a negative, divisive campaign. They made their choices, they knew the consequences and now they're going to have to live with it.

This Convention certainly isn't going to be a picnic. Maybe the DNC will let Obama bus in some supporters for the event. I suspect half the Dems will either go home early or sit in stony silence.

107. I happen to be lucky enough to know some fairly senior
members of the 'Obama Campaign'. For what it's worth, I'll tell you that they do, indeed, care, and they care deeply. They care about the country, about the people who live in it and the world that surrounds us. I understand that you're not seeing that, now, but I can only tell you what I know to be true. I imagine that you'll say that I'm wrong or deluded and I'm certain that's possible. I don't believe that's the case.

It's not a joke, Ozark. But it does put Bill in a position to show what kind of man he is.

Hill and Bill will most likely continue down their lonely low road.

But, it can't be honestly said that Obama didn't try, yet again.
