Arianna Huffington: Unmasking McCain: His Reactionary Record on Reproductive Rights
Edited on Tue May-27-08 09:49 AM by still_one
We've seen the exit polls. We've read the unequivocal quotes. Many women who are avowed Hillary Clinton supporters are declaring they won't vote for Barack Obama in the fall. I get the anger and the disappointment. But to quote SNL's Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers: Really? You'd rather vote for John McCain, a man who has a 25-year history of voting against a woman's right to choose? A man who over the last eight years that NARAL has released a pro-choice scorecard has received a 0 percent rating? A man whose campaign website says he believes Roe v. Wade "must be overturned"? A man who has vowed that, as president, he will be "a loyal and unswerving friend of the right to life movement"? Really?

1. Wow, this thread is getting no love yet.
It needs some because this is what NEEDS to be heard. Grampy McSame absolutely CANNOT win in November! We can't let it happen again.

K&R!

3. Perhaps people are too self-absorbed with their own petty political sqwabbling
to be bothered by the consequences of a mccain presidency

5. It certainly seems as if this is the case, sadly.
We really have to get it together. I noticed Ron Paul got 24% of the vote in Indiana tonight. There is weakness there and we have to take advantage, get in there and beat the pants off of ol' McBush, for the sake of our rights for a generation to come.

2. Was his "reactionary record" ever masked in the first place?
If this is news to anybody, then I despair.

4. He has been painted by the media as a "reasonable" person, and that is the danger /nt

6. 100% with NARAL and 0% with NARAL, well that makes the election pretty simple for the pro-choice
100% NARAL = Obama

0% NARAL = McCain

...in case anyone is still unclear. I can write it again in bigger font if needed.
