Obama will likely pass yet another key delegate threshold today!
Obama leads by 197 delegates.

There are only 86 voter-selected pledged delegates from the remaining primaries who have not yet pledged so even if Hillary won them all she still couldn't catch up to Obama. Hillary cannot win without the super delegates overturing the choice of the voter-selected delegates.

Now there are only 201 super delegates left to commit to a candidate. When a net of 2 more super delegates commits to Obama, he will have a delegate lead equal to the entirety of all the remaining super delegates who have not yet committed.

Perhaps Obama will pass that threshold today - by the end of the day, Obama's delegate lead may likely exceed the total number of uncommitted super delegates. Once Obama passes that threshold, Hillary would need almost a clean sweep of the few remaining voter-selected delegates and an equally impossible near sweep of super delegates still up for grabs to catch up.

This is just one more threshold Obama will pass on his pathway to reaching the 2025 delegate majority.

1. All together now
"Even pledged delegates can change their minds". And they'll all do so en masse once they realize that only Hillary can save us. :sarcasm:

2. Except that it's looking more and more like the 2025 number will change by the Puerto Rico primary..
although, even if they do the 50/50 in Michigan and seat half the delegates in Florida, it doesn't change the numbers -- at least not enough to affect the eventual outcome. All that changes is the magic number, which goes from 2025 to (hmmm... all of the Michigan delegates, plus half the Florida ... carry the one, divide by pi ... ) about 2287 or so.

3. Obama's website shows him with 317.5 (two more supers than DemConWatch), and by Obama's count, he's

leading Hillary by 195 delegates with only 196 super delegates still uncommitted (he's one super delegate closer to your threshold by his own count than by DemConWatch's count).

5. Obama now leads Hillary by 198 delegates with only 200 super delegates remaining uncommitted!
One more super delegate to reach the milestone where Obama's overall delegate lead is bigger the total number of remaining uncommitted super delegates!
