Debbie Wasserman Schultz simply won't hush. She can not stop blaming the party and Dean.
There are a few people here in Florida that I will never again respect. What has been done to this state by its Democrats, the way it has been manipulated for the benefit of the Clinton campaign...is unforgiveable. Wasserman Schultz is one of the people who has caused the most dissension.

The other day I posted about someone who came by and got unbelievably angry about why his vote did not count. He was literally ranting. He did not even know where to direct his anger, it was just like someone who is pushed to the limit....like it was here in 2000. I could explain a little, but he could not hear more for the anger.

Today we were in the office of an intelligent politically informed person who was acting the same way. Again we tried. It is hard to get past the anger now with anyone to even explain.

Wasserman Schultz was at it again today. She was quoted in an article by Fox News blaming Dean and the DNC. She forgot to mention that the state Democrats worked with the GOP all the way.

She simply does not know how to stop when the stopping is good. I have never seen anything like it. She gets on a show and just rattles on and on with her spin. She is supposed to be one of our most progressive Democrats, or at least until lately. Now she is giving her heart and soul to the Clinton campaign, and it is reminding me of a train wreck waiting to happen.

Party Leaders Hopeful Dean Can Strike a Deal Over Disputed Delegations

This is how the Florida Democrats and the Clinton campaign have been allowed to frame it. Yes, that is what I said. They have been allowed to do so by Dean, the DNC, and the party leaders. Dean tried a few times on TV to set things straight, but they yelled over him.

Handled incorrectly, Democratic leaders worry it could be the thread that teases the party loose come November. So they are hopeful Dean, along with the campaigns and panel members, are able to reach a compromise that bridges a party already hurting from a bitter and protracted primary campaign.

“What’s at stake is nothing less than the confidence of Florida voters going into the general election, and the presidency itself,” said Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

She faults Dean and DNC leadership for early on criticizing Florida and Michigan in TV interviews and fanning the “flames” of their decision, which she said was over the top.

Party rules automatically allowed for cutting the delegations in half, which is what the Republican Party did. The DNC stripped the entire delegations.

“They just went way overboard and cut off their nose to spite their face,” she said.

Fanning the flames? Debbie is the biggest flame fanner around. She is always on TV fanning, huffing and puffing in faux outrage. She is really good at it.

They always forget to mention that the option to strip ALL the delegates is available for the RBC when a state refuses to follow rules.

She even told CNN that "we need to stop worrying about whether rules were broken and that all of this talk about the rules and that kind of thing is counterproductive".

Video which shows Dean saying we need rules. Then Debbie saying rules not needed.

Howard Dean: We need rules. Wasserman Schultz: Concern about rules unproductive

"Congresswoman and Hillary supporter, Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) states while advocating for a new "Do-Over" Florida primary that we need to stop worrying about whether rules were broken and that "all of this talk about the rules and that kind of thing is counterproductive".

She got in a royal battle with Ed Schultz in Larry King, and he as much as called her out on her lies that Florida was a victim.

From You Tube:

Schultz and Wasserman Schultz

One of the nerviest things she has done was to oppose a revote in Florida. It was really odd. Dean and the DNC offered a revote in both states, even had the MI revote approved and accepted. Debbie did not want that revote.

While Hillary was blaming Obama for not allowing a revote, it was in reality her own Florida co-chair vehemently opposing it.

Dean tells FL to revote...Wasserman Schultz says no.

Hillary accuses Obama.

As Pennsylvania's primary nears, Clinton's staffers have increasingly accused Barack Obama's campaign of trying to disenfranchise Democrats. On Monday, in a satellite interview with a television station in Montana, Clinton herself made the charge.

"My take on it is a lot of Sen. Obama's supporters want to end this race because they don't want people to keep voting," she told KTVQ in Billings, Montana. "That's just the opposite of what I believe. We want people to vote. I want the people of Montana to vote, don't you?"

And Wasserman Schultz at the same time was even telling Bill Nelson she opposed a revote. It got almost laughable, but it was too pathetic to be laughable.

..."Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida, has called for a new Florida primary, although he thinks the national party should pay for it. But Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz says another election would be too expensive."

...."The potential of a do-over is slim to none," said Wasserman Schultz, a national co-chair of Clinton's campaign. "The cost of a do-over is beyond reach. A do-over would be unfair. We still have nerves that are very raw from the 2000 recount in Florida."

Hell, yes, I agree about the raw nerves.

And as others in Hillary's campaign continued to propose a revote, she continued to be against it.

"There might seemingly be increasing talk of a do-over. But there is not realistic talk about a do-over," said U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Weston. "A do-over is unworkable, too expensive, unfair and not logistically possible in a state our size this late in the game."

Wasserman Schultz is a national co-chairwoman of Hillary Clinton's campaign.

When all this is over, some people owe this state some very big apologies for the anger and the unrest this manipulation has caused.

There are still two lawsuits pending. One person says that even if the problems are settled next Saturday, they will still go on with that lawsuit.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz has led the way in causing the anger and dissension. She should be one of the first to apologize, but I am not holding my breath.

7. What trips me out most about FL & MI is that they were warned LONG before they switched dates
They knew the exact consequences of their actions before even taking said actions. Broke the rules anyway, then cried foul when they realized they would have had a significant impact on the race had they kept their original dates.

Hillary supporters like to scream from the highest mountaintop that every state must get its say, and how there's NOTHING wrong with this process dragging into June, but at the same time, jump to defend (the indefensible) the states who wanted to have their primaries early in the year.

She's helped make Florida the laughingstock of the nation again, with people wondering aloud if they can get anything right (sorry Floridians, you deserve better). In fact this couldn't be a worse time for Recount being shown. She's also backed a losing candidate, raised issues about her integrity as she won't back the dem candidates against the Cons, and she is on the fast track to losing all her credibility. Good job, Deb, very effective.

And what, will she do, when Obama gets the nom, put her energy into Leithien? I do hope when the election is over and the dems make significant gains, that those dems who support Cons over dems get their comeuppance.

17. It Just Isn't Going To Work Out
“ Democratic Party rules committee has the authority to restore delegates from Michigan and Florida but not fully seat the two states at the convention as Hillary Rodham Clinton wants, according to a party analysis.

Party rules require that the two states lose at least half of their convention delegates for holding elections too early, Democratic National Committee lawyers wrote in a 38-page memo.

The memo was sent late Tuesday to the 30 members of the party's Rules and Bylaws Committee, which plans to meet Saturday to consider the fate of convention delegates from the two states. The party is considering plans to restore at least some of the delegates to make sure the two important general election battlegrounds will be included at the nominating convention in August.”

“Clinton won the majority of the vote in both contests and has been arguing that their delegates should be fully restored according to the results of the January vote. But even if they were, it would not be enough to overcome Obama's delegate lead.”

58. To paraphrase the strategy:
If we bully the DNC into seating the states as-is, and we bully the Superdelegates into at least remaining uncommitted, we can take this to convention, where we can ____________?

In the meantime, we can continue to campaign against Obambi and suspend his General Election funds.

Don't get too frustrated when the superdelegates don't see the merits of this approach.

35. I got an email last night from a friend- maybe an ex - friend now-
she compared Howard Dean to Joe Lieberman saying their betrayal to the party has earned them the right to start a new "turncoat" party. She had not BCC'd her entire list, so I took the liberty (much to her anger) to respond to ALL to state the facts- which are that Howard Dean and Joe Lieberman are not the least bit comparable and that Howard Dean is in fact, quite the opposite as a defender of our party, the reason (his 50 state solution) our party is raising so much money and gaining so many new voters and that he is in fact, defending the rules set in place by our party regarding the ramifications of moving the primary dates. I included links to the facts so that everyone could read, if interested, about what a great leader Dean has been and how standing firm on the RULES is what makes him a great leader.

She was livid- she lashed out at me for having the "nerve" to respond to her entire list of friends and family and not just back to her and accused me of spreading lies. She is, also, as you can imagine, a vehement Hillary supporter. So, we began a series of late night emails about how horrible I was to have done what I did (embarrass her in front of her friends and family), about the nerve or my sending something not based on facts but on perception, etc. I calmly suggested that next time, she BCC her list so that this does not happen again and explained that when I receive an email filled with lies being spread to groups of people, I think it's important to set the record straight - or to at least give that group the opportunity of learning the other side of the story. My friend now will I'm sure, never speak to me again- she said I was rude and out of line- perhaps that is true but I'm not sorry. The truth and perception of the truth are not the same. I sent links to facts, links to some of your threads, stories I've been gathering about what is really going on, etc. But this morning she wrote back telling me not to bother sending any more links- that she has no interest in reading anything and that she knows enough about Obama and "his puppeteers" to know he is not good man. Unlike her however, I told her that I would welcome whatever she wanted to send me to demonstrate what she means- but only if they are facts and not fear based opinions. She is one of the ones who will either vote for McShame or not vote at all if Obama is the nominee. Ah well. Another friendship lost over this campaign. Very sad indeed.

As for Debbie Wasserman Schultz, my congressperson, she continues to disgust me and be a complete embarrassment and disappointment. I hope someone will run against her in the next cycle- I for one, will work hard to make sure she is not re-elected. What a shame- I was so excited about her from the early days but not any more. She has gone the way of my friend and many other Clinton Moonies-- and it's very very sad indeed...

In my case, I responded to a mailing list after a continual drumbeat of discontent with Bush and said that only people who had bothered to vote could copy me on these complaints. My former friend, the list owner, sent me a scathing email asking how dare I suggest she hadn't voted etc., etc. I explained I hadn't and had only said that in the to and fro, I no longer wanted non-voters clogging my inbox with complaints of their own making. 43. I am an Obama suppoter, FORMER clinton supporter
and she is right. It IS the fault of 1) Democratic party leaders in FL who knuckled under to the repubs without even a FIGHT, and 2) Howard Dean for doling out the wrong punishment. There is a "rule" but you know what? The rule is fucking STUPID.
The "punishment" has been imposed on the wrong people. It's the Dem leaders in Florida, the SUPERDELEGATES, whose vote should have been taken away. As you correctly pointed out, the state Democrats worked with the repubs all the way.

However, Dean and the DNC created this goddam mess and there is probably no way to fix it. I am FURIOUS at them. No matter how it is "resolved", and I use that word almost as a JOKE, the outcome will be bad. Clinton supporters and/or Obama supporters will feel screwed, and rightly so, no matter how it turns out. The legitimacy of the nomination will be under a cloud, just because it is so close this year.

Where she is dead WRONG is in opposing a revote. They should have had one, and the DNC should have paid for it. Had they agreed to do that, I may have made a contribution but as it stands now, I have put a moratorium on my contributions to the DNC. I'll give to individual candidates but I am not supporting a half-assed organization that puts into place such stupid, injurious rules.

45. Clinton supporters sat on DNC, they supported penalties, quit blaming Dean!
Dean is one man. The DNC is a committee, including Howard Ickes, Clinton supporter
and advisor. Ickes was for the rules, voted for them, supported them until
his client was losing. He admitted it.

63. Check your facts
1) Dems didn't knuckle under to the pukes, THEY LED THE BATTLE! A Dem introduced the bill - all but one Dem voted for it. A farcical feeble attempt was made to amend it to pacify the DNC, the Dems were giggling while doing it - its on video.

2) Dean did not meet out the punishment. Sanctions of AT LEAST half the delegates removed were in the Bylaws enacted while McCauliffe was DNC Chair. The rules committee voted unaminously for more severe sanctions due to the FL Dems complicity. Some of Hillary's staff were on the committee.

for DWS's seat? We could use a few more Wexlers. :)

48. Okay, Debbie whatcha gonna say on TV about the court ruling today?
http://cbs4.com/politics/DNC.Politics.election.2.734615.html

"A federal judge on Wednesday has dismissed an attempt from a Democratic strategist who wants the party's Florida delegates to be seated at the presidential convention.

Court records show U.S. District Judge Richard A. Lazzara in Tampa dismissed the case Wednesday. Victor DiMaio had argued in his lawsuit that the national Democratic Party had discriminated against Florida's voters by stripping the state of its delegates.

Florida and Michigan both lost their Democratic delegates because they held primaries earlier than national party rules allowed.

Lazzara rejected DiMaio's arguments once, but an appeals court in Atlanta sent the case back to him because suit was filed before the primary actually occurred. DiMaio did not immediately return a phone message."

50. Sounds like she's been hanging around too many old guard Floridians.
They just don't believe in following process, unless they'll derive a personal benefit for themselves. They're so chaotic and disorganized, because it's the only way they can get the upperhand. They just think they're too good to stand in line and wait their turn. Rules are just meant to slow the minions down. They make me ill.

51. She needs a primary challenger!
Any chance that might happen, and if so, what are the chances of her getting voted out of office? Serious question - I don't know how her standing is in Florida.

52. She's a freakin vampire. No morals. She can't help herself.
Watch her MSNBC interview with Tweety on May 20th, the night Clinton won Kentucky.

Bad choice of nights for an interview. Full moon.

She's all aroused by Hillary's glorious victory and her fangs are dropping. Right on national TV for all of us mortals to see.

It's gonna take a stake through the heart for this one, Dr. Van Helsing!

64. Maybe this is not about Clinton. Maybe this is about rights and democracy.
If you set aside the partisan lens for a second and look at this reasonably: the voters want their votes counted.

I know that if the DNC told me I could not vote for something that happened in the state Senate without my knowledge, I would be upset too.

I think that the Obama supporters are so stuck in the partisan mindset they do not see that they are asking to disenfranchise TWO states full of voters WE NEED FOR THE GENERAL. Because they want so badly to win they have lost perspective.

The citizens are pissed: we don't want to piss them off, we need them.

Democrats do not advocate for disinfranchisment.

66. Thank you!!
You are right. I live in Michigan. It is not about Hillary Clinton. It is about my vote and my neighbors vote counting. Our state has not been treated fairly. The DNC overpunished and took away the voters chance to let their voice be heard. I am not advocating to seat all of our states delegates. I realize that we didn't follow the rules, but we should not be totally stipped of delegates when the DNC rules say 50%. I personally would not have a problem with that.
