No Obama protests at RBC


An Obama aide confirms the authenticity of a DailyKos posting instructing Obama supporters not to combat Clinton protests at this weekends Rules & Bylaws committee meeting with their own counter-protests:

nder direction from Chicago HQ we are being asked NOT to hold any events like this. For
several political and media reasons, I have been asked to relay the message that only those Obama supporters who obtained tickets to sit inside the meeting should attend. No outside
protests/rallies/gatherings, no matter how peaceful/positive/well-intentioned.

If you would like to be involved in the counter-event (voter registration in Northern VA) please let me know.

As the blogger notes, Obama's been pretty good in maintaining message discipline even among supporters he doesn't actually control.

6. Know when to pick your fights. Hopefully he will fight like hell in the fall.
November is a different contest with different rules. I hope he knows how to bring on the pressure when it gets ugly.

I like him more and more and the hurt of Al Gore not running becomes less painful.
Senator Obama seems like a class act. I wish his opponent took the high road like this.

9. Get the word out...no counter-gathering...
Honestly, you could go with the best of intent to be peaceful and respectful. But believe me, the taunts and temptation would be too great--and the best among us would probably start shouting at the other side...
