Wayne Allyn Root chosen as Libertarian Party's VP candidate
http://www.lp.org/media/article_590.shtml

<snip>
Wayne Allyn Root was selected on Sunday as the 2008 nominee for vice president at the Libertarian National Convention. Root will join former Congressman and Libertarian Party presidential candidate Bob Barr on the Libertarian ticket in Nov.

Endorsed by Barr following the selection of the presidential candidate, Root was selected as the vice president after two rounds of voting.

"Root brings a rarely seen excitement to the political process," says Libertarian Party National Media Coordinator Andrew Davis. "His fire and passion are sure to ignite voters who are bored with the stale politics of the two-party system. Root's spirit combined with Barr's political experience creates a dynamite ticket that will blow apart the status quo politics of Republicans and Democrats."

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Um, yeah...nothing brings excitement like someone that nobody has ever heard of before! Honestly, I really expected them to go after some recognizable name, someone that would help rally conservatives or moderates. Someone like a Hagel, Bloomberg, or even Lieberman or Gingrich. Someone with at least some name recognition.

2. He's a Vegas handicapper
No, that doesn't mean "mob debt collector." He's had a show on discovery about how to use handicapping to make a living off of gambling on football games. Only in America, folks.

4. That's interesting
No, really is. I just assumed that he was some lackey in the Libertarian Party (although I suppose that is somewhat of a redundancy). Since there aren't any Libertarians in Congress, no Libertarian governors, I guess pretty much any Libertarian is going to be a relative unknown.

Still, I think the reaction of many Americans when they see the Libertarian ticket on the ballot is going to be what it usually is - "who's that"
