We don't need him and we shouldn't feed him. Plus, unlike Dennis DeYoung, he's not an American citizen.

I hope you don't mean Ron Paul. Why in the world would Obama pick a republican, anti-choice, anti-department of education, anti-social security nutcase congressman from Texas just because he's anti-war?

53. Wow. I stand corrected and am quite surprised.
From your Wiki link

Paul calls himself "strongly pro-life"<167> and "an unshakable foe of abortion".<168> He believes regulation of medical decisions about maternal or fetal health is "best handled at the state level."<169><170><171> He believes that, for the most part, states should retain jurisdiction, in accordance with the U.S. Constitution.

Paul refers to his background as an obstetrician as being influential on his view, recalling inadvertently witnessing a late-term abortion performed by one of his instructors during his residency, “It was pretty dramatic for me to see a two-and-a-half-pound baby taken out crying and breathing and put in a bucket.”<172> During a May 15, 2007, appearance on the Fox News talk show Hannity and Colmes, Paul argued that his pro-life position was consistent with his libertarian values, asking, "If you can't protect life then how can you protect liberty?" Furthermore, Paul argued in this appearance that since he believes libertarians support non-aggression, libertarians should oppose abortion because abortion is "an act of aggression" against a fetus, which he believes to be alive, human, and possessing legal rights.<[br />

36. You musn't use Wesley Clark's name anywhere NEAR that fruitcake's name.
Clark is a liberal who's pro-choice, has more FP experience in his little finger than anyone running or ran in 2008 has in their whole bodies (yes, including Biden) and is intelligent.

Paul is a fruitcake.

I don't usually like to denigrate other people's ideas, but this one is just plain dumb. Ron Paul is right about Iraq, and he (at least tepidly) has voiced his opposition to BushCo.'s infringements on our civil liberties. Other than that, he's pure scum.

Hes voted for all bills supporting equal rights. Just because his name is on some libertarian magazine that someone wrote hateful shit in doesnt mean he supports it. It's like saying Obama is a terrorist for knowing William Ayers. Theres plenty of shit to not like about him, but this isnt one.

42. What is with the fixation on Republicans?
The constant stream of support for Republicans on a Democratic ticket is starting to get to me. I don't understand it at all. Why are so many in love with the traitor party, the lockstep crew, the enableres of war crimes? Why the disdain for the qualified in our own Party? Why the urge to reward failure with promotion?
Not one Republican set him or herself apart from Bushco by taking a strong stand against them. None were vocal, not one oragnized an opposition within their own Party. They yeilded all to GW and they should not in any way be rewarded for that.
Someone mentioned the liar Colin Powell. A man who brought shame to his country at the UN with a willful and consious set of well prepared lies. Disgusting.
A GOP veep pick and I go Green. I do not vote for Republicans. Not in pairs, and not when coupled with a socially conservative Democrat.
I do not vote R on a train,
I do not vote R, I have a brain.
I do not vote R, D I am
Keep your R's they are a scam.
