WHO. THE. HELL. CARES??!?!
Edited on Fri May-30-08 12:18 PM by msallied
Honestly, another preacher "scandal?"

Is this all they've got to bring Obama down?

Who honestly think this makes a damn bit of difference with Obama himself and why is anyone trying to hold Obama accountable for it?

Guilt by association politics is the most retarded strategy I've ever seen.

7. What gets me is these people are proving their cultural ignorance every time they do it.
They have clearly never been in a black (or other minority) church and understand that the delivery and the theology differ greatly from the stiff, snore-inducing delivery of a traditional white Methodist church (which is what I grew up going to and perhaps contributes greatly to my staunch Atheism now). And rather than attempt to understand said philosophy or let their ignorance guide what should be basically a polite non-opinion, they're throwing tantrums and pointing fingers over something they simply lack of the cultural perspective and context to comprehend. It's like people walking into a Mosque and saying that the Muslims are wrong to be kneeling on the floor so much.

4. Not me.
There really hasn't been anything labeled as a 'gate' or a 'scandal' that I give two shits about during this whole primary season. To clarify: anything regarding Obama or Clinton.

One cannot control what people say. who you get endorsed by, or what your supporters may or may not do.

You CAN control things you say and things you do as a candidate. That's what I pay attention to. Obama and Clinton have each made their fair share of gaffes while campaigning, the problems arise when they don't acknowledge they made a mistake or misspoke, then the M$M will take it and run.

This crap is so stupid and pointless. So some white priest gets a little fired up during a sermon and starts to think he's doing a stand-up act. And this affects Obama how exactly?

But what would he blab about for four hours a day if not for Wright? Seriously. The guy has no analysis whatsoever. Ayres, Wright, Michelle. Just make a loop, buddy, and play it over and over while you get yourself to the fat spa to lose some of that junk in your trunk.

There are some conservative pundits I do read and listen to on occasion. But Hannity is a joke. You're a great American? F you!

I've never been able to understand why a country can't be a thriving free market AND still have social services and safety nets. Look at all the rich Dems out there -- they did it using the free market. And yet some on DU loathe the free market and insist on government running the show. I say LESS government intrusion and MORE free market.

I make no apologies for capitalism.

Hint, when the people drank the poisoned Kool-Aid, they were a relatively small fringe group of wackos who were greatly outnumbered by normal people. Given the minuscule numbers of petulant, whiny, deranged assholes who can't get over the fact that Clinton has lost, I think I know who's drinking the Kool-Aid here.

34. I've been watching this story develop.
Mostly because I've been fascinated by the McClellan coverage, I've been checking on the standard bearer's websites regularly the past night and morning. Yahoo, Washington Times, Chicago Tribune, etc. Fox, of course, set the tone. It's really amazing how much power they have. No one was running this, they beat it into the ground, and ta-da, it's now legitimate.

The McClellan story has gotten pushed out, I can't even find it on some sites, and then all morning this story and the crane fall started taking front and center. Why? One reason is it's got compelling video. Substance-wise it's a non-story, but people click on things with video. That and they are trying anything to take him down.

But really, he needs to tell any priest about to support him, to just cool it for a while. Don't do anything that's going to scare White America. When he's in, you can do whatever you like.
