Killer O Bees! Will you take the pledge...

...to use your powers for good?

By "Killer O Bees" I mean the Obama supporters who have perfected the art of swarming any vaguely positive Clinton post, or any post vaguely critical of Obama, and killing it with their sniping, snark-slinging, mocking, and derisive stings. (Yes, there are a few Killer C Bees, but there aren't enough of them to make a good swarm.)

I am not speaking to all Obama supporters--I'm an Obama supporter, myself. But, I am not, nor have I ever been, a confrontational person. Maybe it's because I grew up in a different era, or maybe it's because I grew up in a small town, where civility--even toward those you didn't like, even toward those you disagreed with--was the rule, not the exception. Whatever the reason, I hate the Killer O Bees. I find them vile, disgusting, divisive, horrifying, and loathsome.

But!...

All is forgiven if you promise to use your powers for good, once we have our presumptive nominee.

Anybody who's been around more than a couple of cycles know that the fawning media coverage of Republicans is no accident. It followed a decade of loyal Killer R Bees "working the refs." Throwing a fit over any press piece that reflected unflatteringly on Repubs, or reflected flatteringly on Democrats. Whether it was a fact or an opinion didn't matter. What mattered was making journalists wary of saying anything bad about republicans, or good about democrats.

I believe the O Bees here and at other sites around the net represent a pool of talent to "work the refs" in our favor this time. So, O Bees (C Bees are invited to participate too), will you pledge to use your powers in support of the Democratic Nominee? Will you jump on any reporter that gives McLame gaffes a pass, or portrays him as a "moderate maverick" (when we all know he's neither), who ignores McSame's unsavory past, or unsavory supporters... all with the same alacrity and passion with which you attack other Democrats here?

Will you attack reporters who unfairly characterize Obama for any reason?

Will you commit to doing this non-stop until the Press buckles and provides fair, even coverage of both Presidental candidates?

If so, I promise not to post another "stop being so mean" post until the nomination is "determined" (it's not actually official until the vote on the convention floor, but I expect we'll know who it is (and I expect it to be Obama) before then).

Whaddya say? Will you take the pledge?

that's fine too. The main thing is to turn your stingers on the press. For far too long they've been intimidated by the pubbie "killer bees" and we need to do a little attitude adjustment on their asses.

Treat them like Hillary supporters. Make 'em think twice before they post (write, say) anything positive about McSame! Make them think THREE times before they post (write, say) anything negative about Obama.

(Ok this sounds negative, and I guess it really sorta is...I really did hate it happening here... but I take comfort in the idea of turning the "swarm" on the press to stop them from fellating the pubbies all the time.)

We've got to work the refs for OUR side this time, and the Killer O Bees have shown they have the talent and drive to do it!

I've hated it, and posted about it more than once. I understand supporting Obama (I've done it myself). I understand *criticizing* Clinton (I've done it myself).

I HATE, HATE, HATE the vicious "swarming" of mocking posts whenever a Clinton supporter ventures an opinion. Whatever you think of Clinton, her supporters, for the most part, are Democrats. We like democrats, right? I know I do. They don't deserve to be personally attacked and mocked because they chose a different candidate.

Why don't you post this for the Hillary backers, who continue to throw nukes all over the place, then insist that we who support Obama must apologize for our support, or they are going to pout?

I never really grokked why Welsh Orthography was so jacked up, apparently it was fixed to the Roman alphabet in like the 6th century, back when pronunciations were vastly different. How many silent letters can we use?

I got the name from the glossary at the back of C. J. Cherryh's "Arafel's Saga" and apparently it's spelled wrong. I later found a Gaelic dictionary that spells it "bean sidhe" in Irish, Manx and Scottish Gaelic.

But anyway, you're right about the over-abundance of silent letters!

I'm disappointed. There are way more Killer O Bees here, and apparently most of them AREN'T willing to use their powers for good. Just to tear down Democrats.

cause I can't believe there are only six Killer O Bees willing to turn their talents toward keeping the press in line.
