I was Wrong...Obama won this Power Play!!!
In my earlier thread, I was wondering why the Obama campaign seemed to be bending over and taking it up the ass. Now that it's all over, and I've seen the threatening argument made by the staunch Clinton supporter Ickes (along with his annoying crowd)...I now believe Obama won this power play. It may have been set up by Clinton, but she sure didn't finish it. I really believe the Supers need to come out NOW. These Clinton people are OPENLY risking the future of the Party in 2008 by threatening to go to the credentials committee and Denver. They don't give a FUCK about anybody but themselves. And I blame this all on Clinton and her stubborn sense of entitlement, she now has a protesting group of screamers who can't see the forest from the trees. She may have done lasting damage, but I think it's something Obama can overcome. Damn them...

God...if you are listening...PLEASE don't allow Obama to chose Clinton as his running mate. DAMN that woman is like a snake in the grass!!

22. That is very true
it is one of the things that made me begin to admire the young man who came out of nowhere, and wasn't even on my short list of candidates to seriously consider. Then I watched his moves, and his willingness to learn from mistakes, and still try to take as much of the high road as possible.

And I was impressed - he is wise for a such a young man.

2. It was a set-up. They wanted Obama to come out strongly against seating the delegates.
He didn't take the bait. Also, by discouraging pro-Obama demonstrations, people are seeing how crazy the pot bangers are.

20. I love the way that Obama can tell us
what to do and we do it.

Call it a cult but I don't.

Obama is a superb TEACHER.

He can predict the way that his students want to act from the darker side of their personalities.

Then he can make a statement that just fits into the "turn the other cheek" mode.

He must really read his Bible every night to have such wisdom.

21. I believe that Obama took a true compromising position. And he had truth and fairness on his side.
Hence, the result.

BTW....Obama won the FL argument, and either Clinton basically won the MI argument, altho they act like they didn't.

Seems to me the committee truly did try to resolve the matter fairly, w/o favoritism to either candidate. Well done.

3. She has destroyed herself. Once all the news shows air the video of her rabid supporters. . .
. . . the nation will see her campaign as the ugliness that it has been.

She blew it.

14. He does? Why am I not surprised?
He plays things rawther shrewdly, I think. Almost zen. A very elegant fighter with a LOT of smarts. Very different. We're yearning for change? He's promising change? As they say in the Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes, we may already be a winner! This is the kind of stuff we're already getting from him.

5. you have spoken what I am feeling right now.
I never thought I would feel so pissed off at the behavior of fellow Democrats, but from now on, I have ZERO respect for Hillary or ANYONE who supports her.

6. From reading the pro-Hillary RBC members (most of them), I think
they were just conceding and hoping to avoid further damage to the party by not resolving this today--no more, no less. That means respecting the rules, and the only candidate who consistently followed the rules, whether they supported that candidate or not.

Good for the party, too, even if the MI thing was a bit messy in all ways.

10. it was a disgrace, really
For those Hillary supporters to be shouting down the speakers and doing their chanting and psuedo-rioting was one of the most appalling things I've seen. And it won't help her - it'll hurt her, because I can see a lot of remaining SD's putting an end to this bullshit and fast.

11. Joe Andrew said that he had talked to some undeclared
superdelegates, and that they had "taken note of the Obama campaign's willingness to compromise and are appreciative of the graciousness, and are keeping that in mind" or something.

16. That was very well spoken....
You are 100% correct, and it describes how I am feeling.

I hate to say this but Clinton is so stubborn that she actually reminds me of someone else that refuses to change course.

17. I've been thinking the same thing
she's just showing us she's as stubborn as W. Do we want another president who doesn't seem to understand that sometimes you do have to back down? She could have gracefully conceded this months ago and made herself a viable candidate for another election. Instead, she's decided to burn her bridges.
