PHOTOS Shocking: The First Lady of Recycling.
Edited on Tue May-05-09 05:32 PM by Jackeens

President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle attend the Presidential inaugural prayer service at the National Cathedral in Washington January 21, 2009.

First Lady Michelle Obama and US Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice address the employees of the US Mission to the United Nations on May 5, 2009 at the mission in New York.

Can she be impeached for wearing the same outfit twice?

39. I love her little shoes. She reminds me of a little girl sometimes, a
cute and perky little girl. I love that dress. On her. :-D

I'll bet that's not the last we'll see of those Jimmy Choo's, either.

At least they look like the same shoes!

I do believe when you say "Hey, I recognize those shoes from a Nick special!", it's time for Mom and Dad to schedule a date night. :eyes: Sad.

6. She certainly has fashion sense, just about anything she wears
looks fantastic!

SO much better than the "Shroud/Potato Sack" look of Pickles.

13. I thought Laura Bush looked fine. And so did Hillary. And even
George Washington Bar Bush looked OK, except for a dowdy hairstyle.

Every so often, each one of them has worn something that looked a bit dumbass, but so what? I think Mrs. Obama is charming, but that sweater that looks like Stevie Wonder buttoned it for her I think is ghastly, and so's that blouse with the clown bow. I didn't like Mrs. Bush's gown that looked like it was made from curtains. Mrs. Clinton had a few hairdo missteps before she settled into her groove. And Bar Bush always looked like she was going to take the dogs for "Walkies!"

But hey, sometimes they look good, sometimes they don't. They're human. That's fine with me!

15. With Laura, it was the earth-tone pantsuits...
I'm no fashion guru by any means, but there are things that are relatively pleasing, and things that are "dowdy"...a lot depends on the occasion. To me, Laura's wardrobe was generally pretty bad, but for formal occasions, she came off rather well.

As for personality, I found Laura to be pretty intelligent...but I also think she despised the whole DC "thing". She was rarely, if ever allowed to be herself. With MO, it is the complete opposite, she's being herself every day, and she is intelligent, witty and her own woman. She is a pleasure to listen to. As an aside, virtually every woman I speak to around my parts, would sell their soul for MO's smile...:hi:

18. I think Michelle gets a lot of designer creations sent to her. She seems the kind of person that >
doesn't want to upset anyone by not wearing their clothes. I've liked most things she's wore so far she has a way of making everything look great.

24. I dunno. I think she has a "dresser." That lady in the mumu they did a thread on awhile back.
I think the lady's motto oughta be "Hit or Miss."

In the big scheme, I don't care. I think Mrs. Obama is fine if she wears a bathrobe and flip flops, even if some of her choices look a little goofy.

8. Eleanor R generally had two evening gowns to get her through a whole social season...
and one tweed for traveling.

It horrified the chief usher that she would wear one dress all day. Tough.

26. I've been wondering what size she wears. I shop at Good Will so an Obama hand-me-down...
would probably constitute a step up for me.

You want to hear the funny part?

I seriously do most of my shopping at Good Will and I have a reputation for being a clothes horse-fashionista. I constantly get, "that is so adorable/love the outfit/you always dress so nicely, where did you find it?!"

Yes I have a bulging closet because my suits only cost $7.99. Bwa!

28. I wish I had done that (shop at Goodwill) when I was working
I wore a suit every day - it was a)hard to find a shop with nice suits for women and b) expensive.

I'm not good at guessing sizes. Hopefully, Michelle Obama is a size 12 like me :-).

19. It's a great dress...
and she looks super in it. Not afraid to be seen in public twice wearing the same dress.....Good for her...

She is apparently too focused on doing her job well, rather than on what a bunch of men might think about how the "wimmins" are supposed to look.

I think we should keep her....'course some of those very same men will say she is trying to go outside of her "first lady" limits. We will simply then need only to point out that she is indeed a lady, and maybe they need to concentrate on being gentlemen.

Laura may have worn her clothes more than once too, but who could tell? Her clothes were distinctive only for their forgetfulness. Who remembers drab drapes, and sofa covers?
