Alan Keyes plans to be arrested protesting Obama's commencement speech at Notre Dame
http://www.fox28.com/Global/story.asp?S=10319878

Dr. Alan Keyes is trying to land himself in jail. As part of the protest against President Obama's commencement speech at Notre Dame, Dr. Keyes has called upon fellow protestors to join him in trespassing on the University's campus "until the South Bend jail is filled to overflowing".

He'll be in South Bend Thursday for a press conference, with a protest planned for Friday.

On May 1st, protest organizer Randall Terry was arrested for criminal trespassing after being warned by University police that the second he stepped foot on campus, he would be arrested for trespassing. As you may recall, Terry and six other protesters pushed carriages containing dolls covered in fake blood.

University spokesman Dennis Brown said the no-trespassing order issued by Notre Dame remains in effect forever unless the university decides to rescind it.

Keyes and Randall Terry abuse their freedom of speech.

3. keyes and terry are idiots. But why do you say they "abuse" their freedom of speech
They want to speak and be fools, that's their right. They want to trespass, they get arrested. Not sure where I see the "abuse" or what that is exactly supposed to mean...are we supposed to support putting greater restraints on their ability to speak?

4. It's a line from the conservative movie "An American Carol"
Where George Washington tells Michael Moore (charcterized as "Michael Malone") that "you abuse freedom of speech".

It was an inside reference, and I guess I was wrong thinking that people would catch on to it.

12. Keyes is an idiot. Terry is a terrorist.
He's openly advocated violence, especially towards anyone employed by, or using the services of, abortion clinics. He also prays with his followers to "let a wave of hate and intolerance wash over you". Real "Christian" of him. :eyes:

5. I just wish the "authorities" would treat these reich-wing protesters like we were back in the day.
Tear gas and riot batons and rifle butts and pepper spray.

Add in the newer technologies - tasers and "rubber" bullets and heat rays.

Finally, throw their asses in jail so that the real criminals can rape and otherwise abuse them.

Then see how much they care about their causes.

26. I hear they're available:

“We can’t bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell them stories that don’t go anywhere. Like that time I took the ferry over to Shelbyville; I needed a new heel for my shoe. So, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on them. ‘Give me five bees for a quarter,’ you’d say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn’t have any white onions, because of the war; the only thing you can get was those big yellow ones.” - Grandpa Simpson

20. Two hypocrites in a pod.
They want their religion to be the law of the land, want to keep women in the dark ages, and both have gay children they won't even let into their homes.

10. So what's he protesting???
Is Keyes complaining because of Obama's position on abortion, or because Keyes doesn't believe Obama is a US citizen. Or both??

And is he still pissed because Obama beat him for a Senate seat??

22. Their platform and rhetoric were pretty much the same.
But for opposite reasons..... The DLC told Gore he had to pander to the mushy middle to win, so he went "right". Chimpy campaigned 90 fucking degrees to the left of what he actually was. Remember when he claimed he wanted a "humble foreign policy" and "no nation building".

So the campaign rhetoric was nearly identical in some respects (and Liberman & Darth Cheney, even more so)

But I certainly never thought the candidates were the same. I knew even then that Chimpy would be worse than his father, just based on the idiot factor alone. Hell, I even voted for McCain in my state's 2000 primary - not because I am or ever was a Repuke - but just to vote preemptively against the Chimp!
