With the Statue of Liberty's crown being reopened... can we look for other changes?

..... as Obama tears down Bush's "politics of fear" model.

He's already stopped referring to the "War on Terra".

- Will the color-coded "terror alerts" go away?

- Will all of the silly TSA rules that don't keep us safe (like 3-ounce limit on bottles, removing shoes during checkin, etc) go away?

- Will the wiretapping of Americans stop?

What other Bush-era examples of "fear politics" do we need to rescind?

6. How about starting with...

... taking Bush-critical journalists like Naomi Klein off the watch list.

And then taking Ted Kennedy off that list.

And then allowing Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam back into the USA. Etc. etc.

5. The whole liquids thing...

I used to work at an airport. I would tell passengers to empty their plastic bottles and fill them up at the water fountains inside, because I didn't want them to have to spend 3-4 dollars on a bottle of water.

If not for the whole national security angle, I'd swear that it was all a ploy to increase profits for the concessionaires.
