CNN: Sykes' Joke about Limbaugh (who trashes the U.S. President everyday) was over the Line!

John King was just on CNN, and was at the "Affair" last night. He said he doesn't normally give his personal opinion (sure!), but said that many people cringed last night at the Rush Limbaugh joke, and so did he. He said that this joke was over the line.

I'm just trying to figure out why a joke told by a "comedian" about an "entertainer" who trash talks the President every damn day to millions of listeners over the radio goes over the line.

In otherwords, why can Rush Limbaugh call the President a terrorist and a Socialist, but can't be called a terrorist who was addicted to Oxicotin (especially since it is true).

Didn't John King hear anything that President Obama said in the part of his speech about journalists; that they are at their best when they tell the truth, or an approximation thereof?

Their life is TV politics. They have had little if any life experiences outside school that have exposed them to the everyday street life elements normal people grew up under, or live in today.

That's the kind of faux rebelliousness that would make a middle-schooler look silly. On a grown man it's beyond pathetic.

They push people around all day, say the nastiest things in the world, and than when someone fights back they scream, "No Fair!"

Rush is so popular because he's the biggest of the Bullies. He says the nastiest most hateful things all day and than plays the victim whenever anyone calls him out on his bullshit.

They idolize Rush because he's the biggest embodiment of what they are as a collective.

Since he dishes it out on a regular basis he should be ready to take it. And I'm sure that was the point Sykes was trying to make. I think she specifically intended to go over the line to show him what over the line feels like.

But depicting Obama as a monkey - like the Republicans have been doing for a year or more - isn't?

She started that Rush series by being puzzled by Rush's wanting President Obama to fail. He wants our country to fail. In a time like this, with people losing their jobs, losing their houses, when the country is at war, he wants America to fail. To me, that's treason, she said.

And to a lot of us who have listened to clips of Rush's comments and watched the GOP kiss up to him in spite of his hateful words, he has needed a slap in the face for a long time.

The Republicans and their friends like John King are probably mad at Wanda for reminding people that Rush was abusing prescription drugs.

And she started her routine by teasing the president, first lady and several Democrats, so she wasn't just hitting one side.

I just hope the TV media critiques continue to demonstrate to the public how very conservative they have become, conglomerated into too few corporate hands. There is a sprinkling of liberal voices to pretend they are still balanced, but they continue demonstrating how conservative they are by giving so much air time to criticism of President Obama. They pretend that's fair because they pretend they were critical of Bush when they weren't-- we remember their backing his war of choice with splashy branding, and covering his war crimes but not calling for his impeachment.
