Christopher Hitchens Rips Wanda Sykes: "The Black **** Got It Wrong" (HuffPo)
Buried at the end of Chris Rovzar and Jada Yuan's fantastic White House Correspondents' Association Dinner party report is an incendiary quote from Christopher Hitchens about the evening's entertainment, comedienne Wanda Sykes:

"The president should be squirming in his seat. Not smiling," he said. "The black dyke got it wrong. No one told her the rules."

Rovzar and Yuan note that Hitchens was the "last man (barely) standing" of the evening.

Hitchens gets it badly wrong about 50% of the time (I dont know if that reflects before drinking, in the midst, or coming down from). When he gets it right, you are almost afraid to accept the endorsement. I was glad he was for Obama, but man, I wasnt about to brag about it to anyone.

This is a racist and homophobic remark and he should apologize IMMEDIATELY.

15. Most of these apologies people make foir their remarks are phoney....
and more than anything make me feel contempt in addition to whatever other negative impressions I have. It would be particularly so in Hitchens' case given how articulate and deliberate he is in his speech.

A friend of mine just called and said the same thing! She was saying how amazed she is at how many people are coming out in defense of that pig! The problem is with Wanda calling him out! I love how racists use Black as an insult before adding any other insulting terms. "Black "something something"" always makes shit even that much worse. Don't get me wrong...the "dyke" comment is below reproach. But you'll notice he had to stress what she is, by using Black, in front of it. It's a coded double insult. Racist coded language.
