1. He's bloviating because deep down inside
He knows that he's vastly overpaid himself.

2. I'm not sure, but somebody should be controlling senior executives' pay.
And right now nobody is.

3. For many years, various laws limited executive pay indirectly
Executive pay over a certain amount was not deductible from the company's income for tax purposes, effectively doubling the cost of excessive to the company and stockholders. Company pay had to be disclosed in prospectuses, which were read by shareholders. And conflict of interest rules prevented executives from setting their own pay or having their buddies on the board set their own pay.

It really can be framed as an issue of fairness to shareholders.

4. IF WE PROVIDE THE MONEY FOR THEIR SALARIES, THEN WE GET TO TELL THEM HOW MUCH!!!
If these companies DON'T want US telling them what to do, then they can FAIL, and see how much they get!!!

IT'S OUR MONEY!

Nobody is FORCING them to take it.

WHY don't these media WHORES explain it LIKE IT IS?!!!
