And I refuse to take part in the mischaracterizations.

Thanks.

3. Clearly there are just to many of us who expected some campaign promises to be kept.
Edited on Sat May-16-09 05:27 PM by YOY
Apparently to some here this means wanting a pony or somesuch.

Republican gets elected and FReeps get 90% of what they want...they fuck things up and still want more.

We get elected and get 15% of what we want and are told to like it.

Well I can calmly criticize and discuss things...but I don't want to be called a radical leftist for wanting some simple things that should have been done years ago enacted.

12. I understand the 'joke' about ponies
but one of the reasons it is not all that funny to me is that in this economy, people are having to give up horses and ponies for the expense of it. Not all of them are nearly so lucky, but I am pretty sure it would not be very difficult to find one for nothing, and you really could name her Vera.

"“There is a growing problem of horse neglect and abandonment which is a direct result of the economic downturn. People are finding it more difficult to take care of their horses, so they are likely to neglect or abandon them,” said Scott Beckstead, the Pacific Northwest Coordinator for the Humane Society of the United States.

"Many horse rescue groups, including Equine Outreach are now turning away animals" said Bartz. Bartz said he and his partner were going out on Friday afternoon after our phone conversation to help an owner put down an unadoptable animal. It’s a last resort, but one that even rescue groups are having to contemplate as resources run thin.

Please bear with me. I have a horse loving pal who gets very huffy about the pony comments on DU, considering she's handing off all of her money to keep ponies from going to the glue factory, I really don't blame her, and thought I would post the harshly real pony story that is a current event.

22. Ponies should never go to the glue factory!!!!
I know lots of great pony recipes. A moderate sized pony and small, backyard garden can feed a family of four for six to nine months.

I agree with you that pony can be tasty, but a few goats can provide meat and milk!!! Maybe Obama will give us goats, or llamas, or emu......

14. Abortion is still legal - the main thing the religious right has campaigned for
Few people get all they want from a political party - however, many on the right are smart enough to know that part of what they want is avoiding having certain democrats in office. We need to be at least as smart as the conservatives in understanding the benefit of avoiding people like McCain/Palin and another W in office.

7. My Issues Are Fourfold - All Big Ones - Torture, War, Health Care, Economy
Regrettably, I find the Democratic Party, the Obama Administration, and the President himself to be on the wrong side of these issues.

Ergo, I cannot blindly support those that I believe are politically misguided.

If that makes me a "heckler" then so be it!

over Government.

Unfortunately, as you said, he is coming down on the wrong side of all six of these issues so he can't get blind loyalty. We need to keep an eye on him, pressure him to the left as much as we can, and let our displeasure be known.

We are trying to be heard over the chorus of corporate lobbyists that surround him, and the former corporate executives that he has hired to fill important government posts. We need to be loud to be heard.
