So why is Obama seeking out Bush?

Or is it the other way around? Whatever it is, I don't like it. He, in my opinion, should stay as far as possible from that jerk.

Are those meetings where Obama is getting great ideas like indefinite detention as a means of control? Are those meetings were the law is laid down? I wonder.

President Obama, I implore you to stay away from Bush!

I doubt very seriously that these conversations involve anything of substance but more of the respect between the former President and the current President.

The administration wants Dick Cheney as the face of the opposition as more and more people realize that a)this guy was really in-charge during the past eight years and b)he is certifiably crazy

More importantly, if the investigations do happen, a co-operative George Bush would be most interesting...

Talking to someone doesn't mean agreeing with them. Obama seems to be interested in the thinking behind the Bush admin. decisions regarding detainees. I don't see how this can be viewed as a bad thing. Understanding the past is the key to making better decisions for the future.

17. Presidents always talk to former presidents.
Do you remember the photos of President Obama with former presidents at the beginning of his term? History trumps politics, and an exchange of ideas (experience) between presidents is common. This is for the good of the country.

It seems to me there are already too many parallels between Bush's policies and Obama's.

That is my point. Obama should be taking strong liberal advice, which seems for the most part lacking in the current administration.

26. He's upping the ante with Cheney
While cheney pisses and moans and and tries to knock Obama off of his game-Bush is working behind the scenes with Obama. I think this is Obama's checkmate to Cheney. Cheney is more worried about Bush 'getting to' Obama first and cooperating with Obama. It all boils down to who is going to sell out who first. Cheney sells out Bush, or Bush sells out Cheney.
