An absolutely hideous display by Whoreish Toolbox David Gregory This Morning.
I know...it's nothing new for Gregory to be among the worst of the worst teevee whores but he's really outdone himself on MTP this morning. He's spewing right wingnut talking point after right wingnut talking point - tag team jerkoff with Newt. Durbin is doing his best to bat down the nonsense but there's really no use. Russert is spinning...

1. I know
Why is it that they keep this irrelevant fool Gingrich on TV? Didn't he resign in disgrace ten years ago?

2. Case in point...
To Newt: Is America really less safe with Obama as president?

To Durbin: Liz Cheney says Obama has a pre 9-11 mentality. How do you respond?

in modern American political history. Other than that...

8. I have a "pre 911" mentality AND I'M PROUD OF IT!!!
I want my country BACK

GET RID of the "patriot act"

GET RID of the nazi sounding and acting "HOMELAND/FATHERLAND" Security Department.

GET RID of the ILLEGAL Wiretapping.

GET RID of EVERYTHING that was put in place during the ILLEGAL bush* regime!

It WILL happen - but maybe not in my lifetime...

24. Oh, God. Tell me, how has a "post 9-11" mentality helped anything?
"Post 9-11" has brought us Iraq, Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, "Shock and Awe". the "PATRIOT" Act, Military Commissions and torture.

This supposed to be an improvement???

5. I tuned in for a minute only to hear how great Cheney is and hear
Chuck Todd say the whitehouse was not happy after Obama's speech. That was enough for me. They are doing their best to tear this President down and they are getting plenty of help. Ridiculous.

10. Why?
Did they try to say WHY the White House allegedly wasn't happy after Obama's speech? That makes no sense to me.

13. Freakin' idiot
Even my husband, who's very much a middle-of-the-road independent, was slamming Todd this week for being such a mushbrained dope. I don't know what the hell happened to the guy who used to be OK when he was doing numbers, but he's now in full-blown suck-up-to-the-media-bosses mode. I can't stand to listen to him anymore. It seriously feels like the media is re-enacting "Invasion of the Bodysnatchers."

16. Polls
I don't give a lot of weight to polls, but I do like to note that Obama is up 2 points in Gallup's three-day average again. So while there's no proof that Obama's speech was (as usual) better received by the general public than it was by the talking heads, I'll allow the possibility.

And although pundits continue to act as if Cheney is getting more popular, I still think he's a ginormous ugly drag on the GOP. Maybe they hoped his speech after the president, if they framed it correctly, would knock Obama down a few pegs. But I still don't see Cheney being the savior of the party. But by all means, I hope the pundits continue to see him that way.

17. I have decided to quit watching it until Gregory is gone.
Hit 'em in the ratings. That's the only thing that broadcast networks understand.
Lower ratings = rower advertising revenues.
Shows that lose money don't stay on long.

18. I don't understand why these shows aren't filled with Obama administration people...
talking about what's really happening, instead of old, discredited, disgraced, or never-held-an-office-daughter-of-the-man-who-really-wanted-to-be-here-but-his-numbers-are-too-low Repuclics all the time.

When will they get a clue? Tell us about health care. Tell us about the stimulus. Tell us about the credit card law. Tell us about GM retooling cars for better mileage and electric engines. Tell us about the war. Tell us about cabinet appointment obstructions.

But, for god's sake, don't just tell us about what the powerless former administration who left in disgrace after ruining our economy and decimating our military have to say!

When they figure this out, their ratings might start to look better.

peace

25. When they do put Obama people on the media is usually
in a feeding frenzy, attacking and belittling. The media is in the pockets of the Right Wing and they have no principles.

I just turn the TV off because I get so pissed.

26. That's a great point. You know the Repubs have hit rock bottom
when an official's DAUGHTER becomes the spokesperson on major issues. Obama better get some of his folks out to speak to the masses and stop doing everything himself.

I don't give a rat's ass how knowledgeable or well spoken Liz Cheney is on these issues. She did not draft or enforce the "enhanced interrogation" techniques she's running around pontificating about. In no way should she be defending them either.

20. Once you have sold out
you can't go back. So you might as well wallow in it.

Russert did his own version of selling out, but seemed to be trying to redeem himself. I'm sure the GE masters made sure they got a man who would stay bought.

Gregory's soul is forfeit.

23. Gregory vs. Russert
Russert would piss me off sometimes, but somewhere in there was the middle class guy from Buffalo. Gregory is the son of the upper upper middle class lower rich from LA. He's never worked an honest day in his life. He was a summer reporter at the age of 18 because his dad was a producer and had connections.

The guy is the definition of the elite mediocrity.
