Maybe Pamela Karlan? Anyway, thank you for your attention to this matter.

Edited to include the fact that I hope this plan is not made public in any way.

1. Karlan was NEVER going to get the nod
This is not a White House that currently has the courage to appoint a gay woman to the highest court in the land.

They couldn't even muster the cojones to appoint a single gay cabinet member.

8. You don't have to blame anyone's cajones
on that. You don't know who would be the best for the job..that's Prez Obama and his team's expertise and one thing he's not lacking is "cajones"..I don't care how easy it is for you to type it.

11. Obama is our public servant
as his employer I believe I have the constitutional right to comment on his selection process.

13. Yeah, easy for you to bring
up "cajones" from your keyboard when he and his team are out there doing the courageous work.

14. If you actually read what I write you'd know I think Sotomayor is a good pick
but that doesn't mean there isn't still a silent ceiling through which openly gay brothers and sisters cannot pass. Largely because of fear of political repercussions.

15. A few places now mention that Sotomayor could help with Kennedy to our side. Technical expertise,
moderation and ability to work with others important. Pragmatic and strategic choice. Plenty of good choices for next time.

2. There'll be a lot of sound and fury (to the RW base)....
In the end, Sotomayor will be confirmed by a solid majority.

3. they can't. they won't. and I predict that Sotomayor will make a teriffic
liberal justice. In any case, genius, if the pukes were successful filibustering Sotomayor, they'd sure the hell be emboldened enough to go after someone with Karlan's massive TV trail.

12. There will be NO filibuster
Snowe will not join in any filibuster after she personally asked Obama to appoint a woman and he did so.
