Remember, gang? Her ensemble cost $313,000?

So, Repugs, I don't want to hear one goddamned thing about the Obama's going on a date to Broadway.

3. Not to mention Sarah Palin's "campaign wardrobe."
And all of McCain's houses. And all of Bush's vacations.

4. She's stinking rich. That's not relevant. Bush and Cheney's incessant fundraising travel, now
that's interesting. Bush burning a shitload of jet fuel to land on a carrier...that's interesting.

Cindy used her own money, and most of the cost was her own jewelry. Don't go after the wives...even the rich ones.

7. Sorry, but the 'Pugs are complaining about folks throwing money around during a recession.
So Cindy and her expensive clothes are fair game.

Cindy wearing a $313,000 outfit when her husband was accepting the nomination for president said to the country, "Let them eat cake."

9. No--the complaints are about public money. Private money is no biggie.
If you're spending bailout money, or taking a big gubmint salary, that is different from people who earned their money distributing beer--which is what Cindy did.

Teresa Heinz was in the same boat as Cindy, and she is one of the richest women around--and she spends it, too. So what? It's her money.

Anyone who is rich who struts around in sackcloth and ashes to pretend to be "less rich" is an idiot. No one believes them.

The gripe about Obama is the eighty eight grand it costs to run AF1 pretty much anywhere. But he screwed them by taking the little Lear that the flags and generals use--it's nice, very nice, but it's like taking the VW bug instead of the Escalade.

No one is complaining about Bloomberg spending his own money, or Bill Gates, or any rich person spending their own money. That's actually good for the economy. It's the spending of PUBLIC dough that is scrutinized.

Talk about Bush wasting fuel going on his MISSION ACCOMPLISHED run if you want to compare...but really, why even engage those nitwits? He's President--not Prisoner in Chief. He has a right to go out with his wife every so often.

13. Reagan was the worst in history...
Edited on Sun May-31-09 12:46 AM by TTUBatfan2008
wasted a FUCKLOAD of jet fuel on vacations to his ranch in California. As bad as Bush was, Reagan's trips were probably nearly twice as much jet fuel. Bush spent more time on vacation than Reagan, but Reagan had held that record for quite a while until GWB came along. And not only was Reagan wasting a crapload of jet fuel to go from one coast of the country to the other coast, he was doing it during the crappy 1980's economy, which oh by the way Rush Limbaugh keeps claiming was a worse economic time than what we're going through right now. So if that's the case, why aren't the wingnuts complaining about Reagan's waste of taxpayer money for his stupid trips to California during the ultra-rough 1980's economy?

8. The RNC yipping like Chihuahua's
My apologies to Chihuahua's (I had one growing up and she was a wonderful dog). Every day they dig deeper and deeper. Is the MSM really doing them a favor by giving them a soapbox (or is it a scaffold?).

10. I guess their argument would be that it was payed with her own money.
While the taxpayers pay for these kind of excursions.

11. To be fair (I know -- who wants to?) the reason for that guesstimate
was because the assumption was made that all the jewelry she was wearing was genuine and extremely expensive. The dress, as I recall, was supposed to be a couple thousand. (Which is ridiculous, but still -- nothing close to $300 K.)

12. I know no one will listen but why the hell do we bother even responding to the lunatics on the right
Almost everything they say has virtually no merit. I smile every time I hear one of their little games. I suggest one of the following four responses....

1 :nopity:

2

3 :boring:

4 :hi:

16. They're just pissed he went to see a Broadway show to support "the gays"..
If he'd gone to a south-Texas ranch and shot animals.. even using 10X's more fuel would have been fine! :)

17. If it wasn't this, it would be ANYTHING ELSE...it's the COMPLAINING that is the only CONSTANT here..
Let's see - how much did it cost to go the fucking PIG FARM - and HOW MUCH TIME did the former AWOL War Crminal spend ON VACATION?!!!

That's all we need to reply...
