do any DUers in Tucson go to drinking liberally at the Shanty?
We recently moved to Tucson from San Jose, Ca. and we have been a few times but various surgeries and other obligations have kept us from attending on a regular basis. As soon as I can walk again from knee replacement we will try to attend more often. It would be fun to meet some DUers from Tucson.

How about Move on? My wife wants to get involved loocally. Anyone?

1. O.K. 33 people have looked at this post and not one person has anything to say?
Do any progressives in Tucson who belong to DU get involved in any community activities? PDA? Move on? Drinking liberally? Whatever? Aside from posting on DU, does anyone here actually get involved? Or maybe you just don't like me. I can live with that but I just can't imagine that all the DUers in Tucson restrict their politicle activities to just sitting in the basement and posting on DU.

Is anyone here involved with anything?

I don't mean for this to sound snarky but since being here and showing up at PDA, a number of demonstrations and occasionally drinking liberally, I've met some pretty cool people. It just surprises me that none of them seem to belong to DU.

2. I'm here.
I was one of the 33, just couldn't post a reply from work at TMC. Not being a drinker, I don't go to bars, but you'll find me at the occasional demonstration. Just look for the middle-aged blondish guy who walks with a cane. Or give me a call!

3. WOW! Thank You!
I'm embarrassed to admit that I had been completely UNAWARE of the existence of Drinking Liberally, let alone that there was a Tucson chapter.

See ya Sunday night!

4. See you Sunday! If you tell the bartender that you are there for drinking liberally
you get a$1.00 per beer discount. If you have never been to "The Shanty" , in my experience, they are not so much into mixed drinks or wine. They seem to do beer best so stick with that. If you need directions, holler or check DL Tucson out on the web. We have found the people to be most enjoyable and they regurlarly have candidates or other interesting folks as speakers. Really looking forward to meeting you.
