crosspost from LBN: Carmona running for Arizona Senate seat
http://azstarnet.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/elections/carmona-running-for-arizona-senate-seat/article_2dfd5dcc-0bc6-11e1-aa02-001cc4c03286.html

Former U.S. Surgeon General Richard Carmona says he’s jumping
into the U.S. Senate race.

In October Carmona said he was pondering a run, though he noted then
that he wanted to talk to U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords before deciding to run.

Carmona said then that part of the holdup was the idea of launching a
career in politics, noting he's been relatively apolitical since his return to Tucson.

1. Excellent.
I guess our darlin' Gabby isn't going to run for the seat. Can't blame her.
I think Dr. Carmona would do well. I'm slightly acquainted with him through my healthcare job, and can say that he's a good person. He's obviously intelligent and highly principled. That's probably why he detested B*sh and his thuggish regime. What I think will be amusing in his run will be the exploding heads amongst the reactionaries, authoritarians and gun nuts. You see, those freaks will have to wrap their heads around the idea that a liberal is also an auxiliary in Tucson's SWAT team, has demonstrated that he's a crack shot in some hairy situations and generally DOES what B*shes and Schwartzenegers brag about but would never in their miserable lives actually DO. Our lowly and despicable Johns(Kyl and McCain)will doubtless try to Swiftboat him.
Let 'em try.

2. Good news for the Senate
but bittersweet for Arizona.
