WASHINGTON - It might not be a good omen when your Washington lobbyist asserts his constitutional rights against self-incrimination when asked questions during a high-profile Senate hearing.
But that's the position the cities of Elk Grove and Lincoln find themselves in as Congress probes the activities of fallen lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
Kevin A. Ring, who is on the hot seat because of his work with Abramoff, includes the two cities among his clients.
A former aide to Rep. John Doolittle, Ring earns $90,000 a year from Elk Grove and $85,000 a year from Lincoln to represent their interests in Washington.
