Californians who've had it with Dianne Feinstein Check in Here
First she sells out on the Iraq War Resolution.

Now she's going to f**king introduce Condoleeza Rice on the Senate Floor as nominee for Secretary of State.

Are you as fed up with her as I am?

DiFi, you are a tool. I will do everything in power to see you defeated in your next primary.

Or better yet, do us a favor and don't run again!

squandered her usefulness and lost her sense of community. Time to hang it up. There R real progressives out here who can represent us. Not voting 4 her again. I'll go green first.

7. Let's start a letter writing campaign to her.
Seeing as we're stuck with her until her next election, we need to try harder to get her to move left, especially on the war issues.

Perhaps a tactic of pointing up her conflict of interest (husband profiting from the war) in a polite way would work: ie, "I didn't want to believe that you would allow your husband's financial stake in the war to affect the integrity of your vote, but more and more you are creating this appearance. Are you aware of all the chatter on the Internet in DEMOCRATIC forums about your recent votes? (cite examples) Please, Senator Feinstein, restore our faith in your integrity by voting against Condi Rice and joining your courageous colleague, Barbara Boxer, in denouncing more of the outrages visited by the Bush administration upon the American people.

Send her the text of Kennedy's speech to the National Press Club (posted elsewhere here today) and tell her that's how all Democrats should be talking--if they want to be reelected. It's early in her term, and a sea change shift in her voting pattern could redeem her.

Miriam

22. I assume she will be running against Arnold...
and, well, at this juncture, what's the difference who wins? Yeah, I'll vote for her, but the upside if Diane loses to Arnold would be the possibility of regaining the governorship. I've heard whispers that Jackie Speier is positioning herself to run.

I hate to be a downer, and I agree that it is very unfortunate that DiFi is acting this way in the senate (especially since the Democrats really need to form a strong minority opposition), but California will never, with its current political atmosphere, elect a "real California Democrat". Yes, population wise, we have a majority of Democrats. Geographically, it's about even and a lot of the Democrats are fairly moderate and will not go for someone so liberal. Also, DiFi is almost certain to win if she runs again simply because she has been in the senate for a while and people are generally not dissatisfied with her. Letter writing campaigns and phoning her office might be more effective than trying to replace her. I just don't see that happening.

20. DINO Diane -
Woman, your 15 minutes of fame are up. You can't use the Harvey Milk tragedy or your mayoral success to prop you up when you're playing on a national stage.
You have shown you can't keep your personal ambitions (mainly, protecting your family's business) out of your political dealings when you're supposed to be representing us, the state of California. You've let this "administration" rape the citizens you're supposed to be protecting and you still put a big show of support for them.
You are a collaborator. You may think that we don't "see" that you're trying to curry favor for your constituents from a thug and his court that are now in power, but "We" see and understand that this thug is using you and laughing at your plans behind your back. He doesn't care how much loyalty you give him, you're a woman, a Californian, and a Democrat. You aren't his constituency, so you're a tool.

Diane - you've got to understand what Barbara Boxer understands - the consistent and fair rule of law is the protection your constituents need. You need to stand with the rule of law, not with the "rulers" who subvert the law - or you will find yourself in the unenviable position of falling alongside the thugs you are sucking up to. That's what happens to collaborators.

Remember what Ben Franklin said - "we must all hang together or we will surely hang separately." If you don't support the Constitution and the rights of the citizenry over the subversion of the Constitution to justify a "ends justify the means" policy, than you are no better than the thugs and cheats in charge.
And you have even less of an excuse than they do for the way you act - because you will never profit with the crooks you have thrown yourself in the company of.

That's reality, Diane. Wake up and stop playing the games. The rules aren't the same as they were even four years ago, but you either don't know or don't care what's really happening.

Haele

25. She insults the Democratic party
by kissing up to the GOP. The RW must be giggling hysterically at the prospect of her introducing Rice. No doubt, Feinstein will praise her effusively thus marginalizing the rest of us.

26. I'd had it with "Dear Dianne" a long long time ago
I remember very well when she ran for the mayor of San Francisco and no, she is NOT a San Franciscan. She was not liked at all by most San Franciscans.

Upon the murder of Mayor Moscone (who defeated her), she got the job via default being she was the president of the Board of Supervisors.

I've never liked her and I tend to vote for someone else always if possible. She got to where she is via $$$$ as usual!

So, I'm checking in alright! :puke: She makes me sick!

re: Rice ... birds of a feather flock together!

37. Feinstein straddles both sides of the fence
and therefore should be voted OUT!

Rep. Michael Huffington, R-Calif., ran against Feinstein in 1994
and came within 160,000 votes of winning. So Feinstein with the right candidate can be beaten.
