Heads Up---Repubs plan several million $ blitz in CA
I heard from a reliable source in Dem party that Republicans are expected to spend several million in the central valley for Bush. Dems need to counter this with volunteers in those counties. I expect there will be some efforts to bring volunteers from heavily Dem counties to help out in these swing counties.

Also, plans are underway for Californians to help out in swing states that are close like Nevada, Arizona, and Oregon.

1. Oh no! Please don't spend that kind of money in Cali!
It might make a difference here! I would just HATE to see them spend that kind of money here as opposed to a hotly contested battleground state!

;-)

2. My first reaction was
they must have money to burn. Still, I don't think we can totally take California for granted. We need to make sure we have Dems voting.

5. I think he might not campaign for Bush...
He might get too much flack from Maria and her family. I understant that Ted Kennedy and him, stay in touch quite often.

I really don't thing he is that much of a republican.

6. An article said he is trying to negotiate with Bush before supporting him
Arnold wants the federal government to give California a bunch of money to help with the state's financial problems. According to an article I read, some insiders believe that Arnold has told Bush he will only actively help with the 2004 presidential campaign if Bush agrees to give California the money.

It's still very early, so it's possible that Bush will use taxpayer money to bribe Arnold to support him in his presiential campaign.

8. Arnold would not endorse Bush unless....
Bush makes some kind of pledge to send more funds to California. Arnold's doing okay, but California needs more federal funds and I think Kerry will provide that better than Bush.

There are just way too many rich people in California that know how to hide their money from the tax structure. California is about 35 million people and still growing, so we need federal help.

9. I would be SHOCKED if Kerry does not win California!
Bush's approval rating in California is about 30% from last
local news report. IMO, Kerry campaign should focus their
spending on the "swing states" and let the
California Democrats spread the message. Volunteer in your
local district!
