7. Some that I would bet on running.
Tom Maddox former Tallahassee mayor and current FL Democratic Party chair

Jim Davis D-US Rep Tampa (my favorite)He's a moderate Democrat with a great voting record. He is also a very good speaker. I wish that he had tried last election but was defending his district against the gerrymandering by the Repub legislature.

Charlie Crist R-Attorney General (The only guy that can give George Hamilton a run for his money with his tan)

Who ever is left after the Democratic Senate primary may throw their hat in. If Alex Penelas loses in the primary, I'd bet he tries for Governor.

13. I don't know about Daryl Jones.

I did like his message during the last campaign and he'd be a strong candidate. He'd run into trouble in N Florida, however, the racists in the pan handle would never vote for an African American. He'd also be great in some position in the Kerry Whitehouse. I'd like to see Kerry renominate him as Secretary of the Airforce.

I'm reasonably pretty sure that Scott Maddox and Jim Davis will run, though. I've been to some of the luncheons that Jim Davis hosts each quarter. In an earlier one, I asked him if he was considering running for Bob Graham's seat. He said something like he wasn't interested in staying in Washington but liked Tallahassee. The folks with me that know him personally said that he would try for the Democratic nomination for Governor.

A friend that was a delegate to the state convention, said that Scott Maddox had all but stated his intention to run. He was selling CDs as a fund raiser that had all the great Democratic speeches on it. FDR, Kennedy, Clinton, and, of course, himself. :D
