1. Every time I get called or asked to subscribe to the Tribune I have one thing I say.
No, the paper endorsed Bush twice.

I read the Sun Times.

2. yeah, i don't even get a paper any more.
strange as that is. i just can't stand it any more.

it will be interesting if they do endorse him. but i think they have to. they have supported him all along. (they must have endorsed him over keyes, ya? i don't remember, and i am too lazy to look.)

5. No. I bet the Tribune endorses McCain.
I bet they'll push the "McCain is better on National Security" bullshit as their rationale.

Sorry to be a downer here. But I wouldn't be a damned bit surprised if they endorsed McCain.

6. Tribune endorsements
It's usually easy to predict who they're going to endorse. Almost always, the candidate with more money gets endorsed. This year that might be Obama.

From the point of view of those who consider news to be just another commodity, a policy of endorsing the candidate with more money is a sensible business decision. An endorsed candidate will be more likely to spend his or her money on ads in the Tribune.
