There was a voter recount in the cook county board of review. Commissoner Bob Shaw was defeated by Larry Rogers. Shaw is an old-time hack who, along with his twin brother, Bill (who was defeated in 2002 for his state senate seat but remains mayor of Dolton), are in a long running fued with the Jacksons (they tried to run a primary opponent in '02 coincidentally named Jesse Jackson, Jr.).
I don't think that review district extends north of Roosevelt Rd., but the county employees might be involved in the recount. Also, that should be Cook County - and you are covered by Chicago.
You should call the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners at 312-269-7900. I wish I could remember the name of the woman I spoke with.
Alas, they may not seem too helpful, but I changed address and received a new card within a couple of weeks.
Also, try your alderman's office. The precinct captains will want every vote they can rack up.
