David Loebsack's latest endorsement...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
David Receives Endorsement and $5000 Contribution from United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters
Second Major Union Endorsement for the Loebsack Campaign
December 26, 2005
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Greetings Friends,

CEDAR RAPIDS—The United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters today announced their endorsement of Democrat David Loebsack in his campaign to unseat Jim Leach (R-IA2) in the 2006 Congressional campaign.

"The Union chose Loebsack over Leach because of his understanding of and commitment to the issues facing working Iowans." Representative Ray Dochterman said.

"Especially in the last two years, Jim Leach has not effectively represented our interests" Dochterman said. "Our manufacturing towns are hemorrhaging jobs, and Leach hasn't been able to do a thing to stop it."

Dochterman said the union was concerned that Leach had been marginalized by his own party.

"We need someone in Congress who people will listen to," Dochterman said. "The pipefitters feel very strongly that David Loebsack is that man."

David has really been doing an impressive job of building support. I think this could be the race that finally unseats Jim Leach! For more info on DL's campaign, or to make a donation, please visit http://www.loebsackforcongress.org .

1. Great news
I just graduated and win I start working in Feb. and get some money coming in, I plan on writing him a check. It would be great for Iowa to pick up 2 Democratic seats in the House in 2006.

And I agree, it would be a great day for Iowa to flip some "r" seats to "D".
