The Students for a Democratic Society is reactivated

and I am working with them, hoping to help restart chapters in Iowa. I am a member from 1968 on but the organization has been dormant for decades. Important now to have this nationwide student (and older activist) organization back. Does anyone know of any campus organizations I could get a link to in this effort. (My function is purely that of senior sponsor or advisor). Thanks.

1. Drake has an active Student Democrat group

so does Simpson College.

2. Would they be sympathetic to an organization

much more to the Left? I wonder if some kind of relationship could be established, some sort of political symbiosis to galvanize into another Movement? This time our enemies couldn't be more clear.

3. Kirkwood Democrats

In Cedar Rapids..and I am sure there are groups at Coe and Mt Mercy as well, but I have never worked with them as far as I know.

The old leader of the Kirkwood Dems would probably be interested, but I think she is gone. I will look around and see what I can find out and get you the contact info if possible.
