1. Dix & Braley
So far we have:

If the 1st District Republican primary were held today, who would you vote for?

Rep. Bill Dix, R-Shell Rock 56%
Bettendorf lawyer Brian Kennedy 14%
Bettendorf businessman Mike Whalen 30%

If the 1st District Democratic primary were held today, who would you vote for?

Waterloo lawyer Bruce Braley 71%
Davenport real estate broker Bill Gluba 15%
Economic development director Rick Dickinson pf Dubuque 14%

-------------------

Braley is kicking ass by a landslide, but I wonder if that is because more Waterloo/CF residents have voted as opposed to Dubuque or QC residents?

hmmmm.

2. I'm voting Kennedy in the republican primary (on-line that is)
He's the nastiest mud-slingyist one of the group and I am enjoying his bitch-slaps on the other two (He's dead meat - doesn't have any cash or any support - but why should that stop him?).

As for the Democratic Primary.....I'm neutral until the primary. And no, Seth, even if you as pretty-please I won't tell you who I voted for in the on-line poll...:P

*sniff* *walks away in a huff with her nose up in the air*

Really, why would the wife of a Democratic Trial Lawyer from Waterloo, Iowa support a Democratic Trial Lawyer from Waterloo, Iowa?

You know nothing!!

On Edit:

That's like me saying that you support David Loebsack when there's three months to go before the Primary, silly!

7. Gluba is the only one who said he wanted
to stop the fucking WAR. The others are all disingenuous on the topic.

8. Gluba doesn't believe in a woman's right to make her own
reproductive health care decisions or embryonic stem cell research. He has flat out stated that, in Congress, he will do whatever it takes to make ALL abortions illegal. He's not ashamed of his position, is very strong on it and will not waiver.

For that he just cannot have my support. Sorry.

12. Here's his web site
http://www.rickdickinson.org/

Basically he has a union and one-half (the retired local president for a UFCW affiliate endorsed him early on and now the Dubuque County Building Trades have endorsed him as well).

How have you been on this board and NOT heard of Rick Dickinson?

13. I had not heard of him because I only here about Braley and
Gluba. I'm in the second district and boycotting the Gazette. It gets hard to find news sometimes. I started getting E-mails from his campaign and was surprised. It seemed like Braley was anointed.

14. Lucky you, you get Loebsack and no primary!
Any of the First District Democratic candidates will be better than any of the First District republican candidates that is for certain.

Braley hasn't been anointed, maybe his press people just figured out early what Gluba's people already knew - CR press carries across the entire First District so it's a good idea to include CR in all press swings.

If you get bored in the next three months check in on the race, should be interesting. :hi: Tell Loebsack "Go get 'em!"
