I just got home from Des Moines
Was that FUN or WHAT?????? :bounce:

Man am I tired!!! Would probably have gotten to bed a little earlier if we didn't stay up to get the First District Results.....:wow:

I need to go back and read everybody's posts and threads!!! Wish I would have brought my laptop w/me last night!!!!

Nussle was such a dickhead last night that it should be easy to get all of us united!!!

I hope the healing can begin in the First District - by looking at the map we will ALL have to work together to defeat Whalen (guaranteed that he, Dix and Kennedy are working things out today).

:hi: The primary was fun - airing our differences and working for our candidates. I :loveya: DU and the chance to hash things out here on the internets ;)!!

(Now, it is nap time :boring:)

I was there as well! (Fairly tall dude, slightly pudgy, blue hat, blue dress shirt and jeans, glasses)

Didn't it KICK ASS?!

2. Okay, I was the short fat chick with long brown hair and red glasses
In the black dress.

I hung back by the reporters most of the evening b/c my husband was giving interviews and one of the news people had his lap top there and was getting minute-by-minute results (I kept begging him to go to the First District results). We were there and downstairs so my husband could smoke. I could have stayed there ALL NIGHT!!! (Especially watching Vilsack up on stage clapping for Culver!!!!)

4. Awwww

Thanks, buddy!

But I know corn fed beef when I see it! Either/or, I told my husband how you described yourself and how I described myself and he said, "Honey, you just drew a picture of 90% of the people there!" :7

Was a fun night all the same!

5. HAHAHA...
Very true.

When Blouin conceded I jumped into the arms of a guy right behind me, lol.

It was good to see Mike Gronstal join the group afterward. I know him from back home, and even though he was a fervent Blouin supporter it was good to see that he was able to convert without any evidence of hard feelings.

That Democrats are united.

My husband said, while listening to Nussle's garbage, "Well, he's done one thing, he united us tonight." Amen

We were in the bar downstairs when the call came in that Blouin had just called Culver - we ran up to the Ball Room so we could be there when it came across the television. What a great thing to hear.

7. I was right up front...
...and we couldn't hear the TV at first, so it was more a rumor that Blouin had conceded until he came on TV. Then we all quieted down.

Oh how sweet it was to hear the words, "Chet Culver, the Democratic nominee for Governor."

Blouin made a hell of a speech, to be frank. I gained a lot of respect for him during that speech.
