2006 House rankings - Iowa-01 Now the Most Vulnerable

1. IOWA-01 (Open-R) Jim Nussle is running for governor Last Ranking: 2

Braley vs. Whalen. Both party primaries were base love-fests, and as both nominees attempt to court the middle, we have to give the edge to the Democrats. This district broke for Kerry in ’04, and as long as Iraq -- and not immigration -- remains the top issue in the fall, Democrats should be in good shape.

7. Well, it would be nice if some of our local papers reported Leach's
votes. You know, in the interest of informing the public. So they can cast an informed vote. That might or might not be counted.

5. June 14 Ranking?
I saw this listed on HOTLINE as new, but the link has Chuck Todd's rankings as of June 14. So is this his older ranking, or do they have the date listed wrong?

6. I think this is the ranking that the hotline article was about
does that make sense?

8. Ok I admit I don't get out much
but around here, the Quad-Cities, there are a lot of Whalen signs and stickers. Have only seen one Braley sign so far. Braley may be able to overcome the apparent deficit in Scott County, but it wouldn't hurt for him to show up here several times before November. In person, not one of his reps.

9. Yes, Braley needs to spend some 'quality time' in Scott and Clinton
Counties. I'm sure he'll be there quite a bit this summer.
