Dear Friend,
I would like to invite you to join me for a Town Meeting on the war in Iraq on Saturday, December 3. I will be hosting two meetings that day:
11:00 am
Hudson Town Hall
78 Main Street, Hudson
2:00 pm
Concord Middle School
Peabody Building
1231 Old Marlboro Road, Concord
Nearly three years after being led into war in Iraq, the United States still does not have a plan to succeed and bring our troops home. The Bush Administration says we should stay the course in Iraq. I disagree. I think we need to do more to give our troops the equipment and protection they need -- and to implement an exit strategy with a responsible timetable to accelerate the training of Iraqi security forces and start bringing our troops home.
This is a crucial time in the national debate. As Congress continues to consider how to proceed in Iraq, it is critical that we have an open, honest, community-wide discussion on how to return Iraq to the Iraqi people. I am interested in sharing some thoughts with you and I'd like to hear what you have to say.
I hope you'll be able to come this Saturday. Please RSVP by sending me an e-mail at meehan.tm@mail.house.gov or calling my Lowell office at 978-459-0101.
Sincerely,
Marty Meehan
