Conyers on local news??
Anyone here see ANYTHING about John Conyers efforts on the local news?
I sure haven't. All I see is random bullshit about who married who in private.

1. not much
I saw an article in the Detroit News last week that mentioned him in regards to doubts over the election results, but I haven't seen a single thing on any of the television news programs. It seems like with one of our local congressmen getting some national press lately, the local media would pick up on it. I haven't been overly impressed with the local news. And I can't stand "Lila's good health."...

2. Lila loves you!
Haha seriously though. I agree. A local congressmen is getting national press but yet there isn't a peep of it on local news. But as soon as some amatuer singer from this area gets on a low budget album, its on the news all damn day.

3. I haven't seen a thing
Although I rarely watch local news anymore. When I do, it's Channel 7 only. I haven't seen anything in the New either.

4. I was sending details to a guy from Knight Ridder...

hoping he could write somethng for the Freep, but apparenly he had "other priorities." You'd think since Conyers was from the state and his Wayne County had 661 complaints before/during/after the election with voting problems, they could manage to pen an article mentioning him, but apparently not.

5. It's a shame....
We really have to get together and email these local news crews. I mean they repeat the same news over and over in a hour time. I'm sure they can toss Conyers in for a segment.

6. Local stations are extremely rightwing ...
... and I found it appalling on returning to the Detroit area last year after being gone for 30 years. The Detroit News isn't worth wrapping dog turds in, and the Free Press is only marginally better. My mother reads the Royal Oak Tribune - which might as well put swastikas on its banner. I don't think I've ever read a more blatantly right-wing newspaper, not even the Arizona Republic. It's akin to the Washington Times.
