Some people are saying Norm Coleman was a Communist
Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 04:31 PM by Oreo
Sorry... couldn't help but use their dirty tricks.
Can we do some research on this? There has to be archived articles somewhere. Maybe Hofstra's student paper?

1. Ha! Repukes are stupid enough to dump him as a "commie
sympathizer!"

Norm is a chameleon. He has no beliefs. He's just a little man who craves power.

6. He is the Hollow Man
http://www.theblackflag.org/2002/garrison01.html
From Garrison Keillor

clip...
He was 9 points down to Wellstone when the senator's plane went down. But the tide was swinging toward the president in those last 10 days. And Norm rode the tide. Mondale took a little while to get a campaign going. And Norm finessed Wellstone's death beautifully. The Democrats stood up in raw grief and yelled and shook their fists and offended people. Norm played his violin. He sorrowed well in public, he was expertly nuanced. The mostly negative campaign he ran against Wellstone was forgotten immediately. He backpedalled in the one debate, cruised home a victor. It was a dreadful low moment for the Minnesota voters. To choose Coleman over Walter Mondale is one of those dumb low-rent mistakes, like going to a great steakhouse and ordering the tuna sandwich. But I don't envy someone who's sold his soul.

He's condemned to a life of small arrangements. There will be no passion, no joy, no heroism, for him. He is a hollow man. The next six years are not going to be kind to Norm.

10. Was Wellstone murdered?
I don't want to sound like a conspiracy "nut", but I have to ask:

What is the thinking up there as to whether Senator Paul Wellstone's plane was sabotaged/shot down?

It was awfully convenient for the Repubs to have him out of the way, and I wouldn't put it past this White House to use extraordinary measures...

11. Of course there is no proof....yet....
But, there are a number of strange circumstances surrounding the crash, particularly the way things were handled immediately afterwards.

I'm not especially conspiracy minded, but I've never believed it was an accident. The crash and the timing was just a little too convenient. Plus, the sad truth is that BushCo is ruthless and has opened up a whole new realm of political intrigue. They get away with so much simply because people can't bring themselves to see or believe that BushCo has never felt obligated to play fair or by the rules.

7. If Norman was ever a Communist you can bet
the weasel thought there was something in it for him (and I don't mean any altruistic ideas of an egalitarian society).

8. So what? Many of the neocons started on the left
besides, we really should not judge anyone on what s/he did when young or even when old. People change, conditions change. An open minded person - and I am not saying that he is - knows how to adapt to changes and be able to explain such changes, as opposed to, of course, simply following the most expeditious route to the top.

9. This is why I am oftem suspicious of my fellow college leftwiners.
Sometimes people my age call themselves Marxists or Trotskyists or Anarchists simply because it's "cool" and they are "sticking it to The Man".

I remember seeing a segement on CNN back during the Anti-Iraq War demonstations with a short interview with an Anarchist protestor. It seamed obvious that they were trying to paint the demonstrators as all wackos. :grr:
